Now that we’re in the early days of May and I’m getting ready for a busy weekend ahead, I wanted to pause for a moment and talk about some of the skincare & hair care products I’ve added to my routine and have been using religiously throughout this season.
As many of you know, and have probably experienced yourselves, my complexion and my curls have different needs with different climates/changes in the season, getting older, etc. What kept my skin hydrated and dewy in the drying days of Winter might not necessarily be my go-to in the warmer, more humid days and weeks of the Spring & Summer when my skin and scalp tend to get a little more oily.
And while I have a handful of products I use year-round – these seasonal posts are meant to highlight the new finds/miracles that are giving me a little something extra when I need it!
But before I get into the breakdown of this season’s assortment- I’ve linked to some of my past collections should anyone want to check them out:
2024 – [ WINTER ]
2023 – [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]
2022 – [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]
2021 – [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]
2020 – [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]

For my Springtime skincare, I just wanted to keep my face clean, smooth and hydrated while I gradually increased my SPF levels and began wearing more lightweight makeup so that my skin didn’t look like an oil slick by lunchtime. That included using a more deep-cleansing face wash and utilizing retinol as a preventative ingredient to target areas that often crinkle up in the sunnier, hotter months (i.e. around the eyes since I tend to squint a lot more when it’s bright out!)
And it definitely helps when said retinol comes in a mess-free, glide-on stick!
- Daily Cleanser: First Aid Beauty Deep Cleanser with Red Clay [ $24 – MORE INFO ]
- Retinol To-Go: Peace Out Retinol Face Stick [ $34 – MORE INFO ]

I know I just talked about this product a few days ago in my April “Favorite Things” roundup, but I love it so much it’s worth mentioning again! This serum has found a home amid my every day curl creams, conditioners, and holding sprays on flatiron days- and for good reason!
It smells amazing and leaves my hair so soft, bouncy, and shiny- and I have a feeling it’s going to be getting a lot of use into the Summer and the Fall, too!
- Daily Hair Serum: dew of the gods ‘Amalfi Gold’ [ $30 – MORE INFO ]
And there we have it- another lovely and fantastic little collection of new products for the season! I’m just as excited to see what I stumble upon once it comes time for me to put together my Summertime routine updates- but as always I’m open to product recommendations.
Feel free to drop me a line!
