My Winter Skincare/Hair Care Routine!

As the seasons change here in New England, I’ve found that it’s often crucial for me to both introduce and remove products from my skin care and hair care regimen to better suit my needs and address any concerns that I have at any particular time. In the Spring and Summer, I often turn to lightweight and oil-free moisturizers, stronger cleansers/scrubs or leave-in conditioners since the humidity tends to cause excess oil on my skin or frizz/dryness in my hair.

In the Fall and Winter, however- my cleansers are much more gentle, my moisturizers are a little heavier and layered- and I rely on hardcore hair masks since the colder temperatures have a habit of drying me out or causing unnecessary redness from head to toe. I still have my favorite products that I incorporate into every day use- like my CBD cleanser and toner I shared last Fall– but I occasionally add a few extra or different players to the game if I feel my curls or my complexion is in need of some TLC.

This Winter, three newcomers entered the arena on my quest to combat dry, dull skin or any pimples that spring up along my forehead since it’s officially heavy hat season- and they have been absolute lifesavers in keeping my skin hydrated, smooth, bright and blemish-free (although I can’t wear the acne patches to work for obvious reasons!)

But before I get into the products and my hair care finds- here are some past collections if you’re feeling curious!

For my hair, and especially now that I’m a redhead again- I have to be extra mindful of products that won’t cause my color to fade or dry my hair out in frigid Massachusetts temperatures.

I’m still loving my gentle and clean-formulated shampoo and conditioner I had talked about at length in my Fall collection- and I’ve been using them regularly throughout this season, too- but rich masks/conditioners, curl-enhancing creams and gentle toners (which I also mentioned in my December Favorites post!) have become my must-haves this time of year- and my hair has never looked or felt better as a result!

And there you have it! A few new additions that are so adored and appreciated right now in this time of non-stop snow, dry-from-the-space-heaters interiors and wearing all of the wool accessories!

I have a feeling there will be a serious skincare overhaul come Spring- when some of my favorite beauty brands launch new collections that they’ve been teasing over these past few weeks. We’ll just have to wait and see!

And if you’d like to share some of your own favorite Winter skincare/hair care must-haves- feel free to drop me a line!
