My Fall Skincare/Hair Care Routine!

If you’ve been reading “Coffee & Chiffon” over the past couple of months, then there’s no mistaking Autumn is my favorite time of year- and living in New England is never more ideal than it is through September, October, and in those few crisp weeks post-Halloween that lead into the (usually) snowy Holiday Season.

If I had to pick just one downside to the Fall- then it would undoubtedly be that my skin tends to go a little crazy around this time. Temperature changes from hot and humid Summer days to chilly and drying Autumn nights usually leads to sporadic breakouts, red/itchy patches- and dullness.

And since I’m usually prepared for the inevitable change in my complexion- I know just how to nip it in the bud at the first sign of potential trouble. It all comes down to gentle exfoliation, diligent cleansing, and lightweight moisturizer- and Fall through the beginning of Winter almost always sees me switching to a three-step system I can swear by.

That’s not to say some of my past favorites and/or products don’t come into play. Throughout this Fall, I also utilized my Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask and Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask from my Summer 2020 Routine– which left some room to adjust my daytime regimen. For that, I turned to Rihanna for a little help.

And if you’d like to see my routines from past seasons, I’ve linked them below!

Here’s what’s been added to my routine for the Fall:

  • Daytime/Nighttime Cleanser: FENTY Skin – TOTAL CLEANS’R REMOVE-IT-ALL CLEANSER [$25 – MORE INFO]
  • Daytime/Nighttime Toner: FENTY Skin – FAT WATER PORE-REFINING TONER SERUM [$28 – MORE INFO]

For my hair care in the Fall- I like to keep it natural and simple. A hydrating oil for my scalp to keep it from drying out/flaking once I start wearing beanies and knit hats again- and a defining and lightweight curl cream to keep my coils frizz-free and conditioned. Bonus points if the fragrance from these products are able to reduce tension and stress, too!

This is what I’ve been using every morning these past few months!

And that is my Fall 2020 Skin/Hair Care routine! By Winter, I know I’m going to need to incorporate more hydration/moisture and extra exfoliation to buff away dry, dead skin- but I have been loving the ease and the results from my current routine in recent weeks.

We’ll see what I find/add to the regimen come 2021!
