Although we’ve only just made it through the dog days of Summer and the season is beginning to wind down, I thought now would be a good time to share my updated skincare/hair care routine and the products I’ve added into the mix to help get me through some of the hottest and most humid days I’ve ever experienced these past few months.
A common misconception about the products I share in these quarterly collections is that they’re the only ones I use- and that is not the case. Depending on my skin or hair needs on any given day, I often turn to past favorites (which I’ll link below!) These posts are simply to show the new additions that I’ve been loving lately.
So for the Summer of 2021, I wanted clean and lightweight products that would keep my pores clear of any excess dirt/oil/sweat- and I did a lot of sweating in the non-stop heat waves!- but which also wouldn’t dry my skin out. I also turned to more nourishing nighttime serums and repairing creams for delicate areas like around my eyes to smooth out any damage from those days I’d forgotten to take my sunglasses with me and would squint a little more than I would have wanted while I was outside.
And, while I haven’t tried every single product in their new skincare line (yet!)- I have been loving the ones I have been using from Sun Bum– who are predominantly featured in this Summer’s assortment.
And if you’d like to see any of my past collections- they’re linked here!

For my hair care this season, I’m still sticking to my purple shampoos, conditioners and toners to protect my blonde from brassiness or discoloration- but I found a leave-in conditioner/styling cream that has not only fought frizz all season long- but is made with the best ingredients and smells amazing.
I scrunch a little of this throughout my curls and let them air dry each morning- and I’m left with volumized beach-ready waves that are smooth to the touch.

And that just about does it for my Summer collection! I’m excited to try more of Sun Bum’s skincare line, especially since I’ve been so happy with the products I have so far- and I’m sure I’ll be using them well into the Fall, as well.
