With August now officially underway, I wanted to take the opportunity before a very busy weekend of errands and a “Girls Day” with the gang to share some of the newer additions to my skincare and hair care regimen I’ve adopted this season! That’s right- it’s time to talk about plenty of products!
A common misconception with these quarterly posts is that some readers think the items/products shared here are all that I use- and I need to stress that they are definitely not! I have a wide variety of cleansers, creams, serums and SPF that I use every day and night- but if I shared the entire routine from start to finish- these posts would go on forever and become rather repetitive!
Instead, I talk about the new stuff I’ve added, am enjoying and getting great results with daily/nightly use! And this Summer my skincare has been all about gentle cleansers that get rid of the sweat, dirt and grime without stripping my face of it’s moisture, weekly exfoliating treatments to smooth out my skin’s texture and clean out my pores of all the pool water and sunscreen- and a firming cream to keep me looking refreshed and radiant- even after those late nights out on the boardwalk.
And if you’re curious about any of my past installments:
2020: [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]
2021: [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]
2022: [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]
So here’s a breakdown of what I’ve been using during this Summer!
- Daily Cleanser: Goldfaden MD ‘Pure Start’ Gentle Detoxifying Facial Cleanser [ $38 – MORE INFO HERE ]
- Exfoliator: Kate Somerville ExfoliKATE Intensive Exfoliating Treatment [ $78 – MORE INFO HERE ]
- Firming Moisturizer: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Night Cream [ $44 – MORE INFO HERE ]

When it comes to my hair care this season, I have been taking proactive steps to protect my curls from the heat, humidity and damage that can come from frequent dips in the ocean and/or the pool. I’ve added a lot more repair masks, leave-in conditioners and am using protective and plumping shampoos that will wash out any gunk from my hair without interfering with my color or natural oils.
It also helps that all of these products smell just like Summertime!
- Shampoo: Garnier Fructis Plumping Treat Shampoo [ $7.99 – MORE INFO HERE ]
- Restorative Mask: Pomélo+Co. Matcha Magic Mask [ $29.98 – MORE INFO HERE ]
- Leave-In Conditioner: Briogeo Avocado + Kiwi Leave-in Spray [ $20 – MORE INFO HERE ]
And there it is! Another season of great products with even greater results! I’m all about keeping things simple this time of year, especially when it gets too hot to do pretty much anything comfortably- so all of these items have been lifesavers with their ease-of-use and efficiency!
And we’ll see what makes the cut this coming Fall when it’s time to restock and review everything in my collection again!
