Before I dive into Jack-O-Lanterns, horror movies, and some Halloween-inspired baking in the coming days ahead, I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to share one of my seasonal ‘Makeup Collection’ posts so I could highlight some recent restocks and limited edition collaborations I have been loving and living for since the early days of September.
The Fall season, and especially Halloween, are when I really enjoy playing around with more color, sparkle and bold combinations on my eyes and lips. Maybe it’s the chillier, often gloomy weather here in New England that make me want to liven things up a little. Maybe it’s because everyone is in costume for different events and parties so it just feels appropriate, or maybe it’s just because I won’t be sweating any of the products off the way I immediately do in the Spring and Summer so I’m able to get more bang for my buck and can get a little more creative as a result – but this time of year is when my makeup collection is the most fun to play around with!
This season, I have some great drug store and indie beauty finds that deliver fantastic results, including pigmentation and longevity. Before I get into everything though, I’ll link to some of my past collections I’ve done in this series (and I’ll be condensing these down so much more by next year!)
And as always, I’ll have swatches of everything at the end of the post!

While I love skincare/makeup hybrids that deliver the best of both worlds, I’ve had a complicated relationship with Cover Girl since I was a teenager and their products were all I could afford as a high school student who worked nights and weekends at my local grocery store so many years ago. When their foundations weren’t turning my very pale skin bright orange, they would make me break out like crazy – and while I’ve found a few hits over the years since then, especially because they’ve come so far in their shade ranges and formulas – I hadn’t really found anything that had completely “wowed” me yet.
Enter their new “Simply Ageless Skin Perfector Essence,” which is a dark spot-erasing serum that turns into a lightweight, easy-to-blend tint as it’s applied and rubbed onto the skin with fingers or a brush and provides a natural coverage/finish. I love it – and wear it daily for a “no makeup” makeup look. Not only does this leave my face looking radiant and even – and not orange! – but it also makes my skin feel super soft and hydrated.
Consider yourself redeemed, Cover Girl.

For my eyes this season, I have two shadow palettes and a couple of shadow/liner sticks that I’ve been mixing and matching depending on the occasion. One palette is typically for daytime wear and for when I’m in the office, on Zoom calls, etc. The other – and you’ll definitely be able to tell which one – is more for my nights out with my boyfriend or with friends since it’s a lot more bright and dramatic!
My “work-friendly” palette comes courtesy of Laura Geller. The “Wildflower Wishes” palette comes equipped with a beautiful and extensive selection of super soft shimmers and mattes that are all in seasonally-appropriate hues of golds, greens, oranges and browns. They’re easy to blend and don’t flake, crumble or crease – which means I don’t have to keep stepping away from work to fix myself up.

And then, for more fun and less “professional” outings, I have been obsessed with this NYX & ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ collaboration shadow palette (just in time for Halloween!) The eight shades in this $18 set are insane in the best possible way – with a ton of shimmer and pigmentation – and they stay in place all night. These are an absolute blast to play around with.
And the packaging? To die for (pun intended!)

When I’m in a rush and just want a quick swipe of color on my lids to look and feel a little more pulled together, I turn to another NYX product in the form of their jumbo shadow crayon pencils since they apply smoothly without pulling harshly on my lid, and because when combined with a primer – they also stay put for a significant amount of time,
My color of choice this season has been the ‘Donut’ shade, which is a light, subtle violet that gives my blue eyes a nice, invigorating pop.

And to wrap up my eye products for this installment, I’ve been keeping these twist-up gel liner pencils from F.A.R.A.H. in my purse this season for quick touch-ups for easy day-to-night transitions or when I just need to refresh my look throughout my day. The formula is super creamy, pigmented, and long-lasting – giving even my most hardcore of makeup remover a run for it’s money.
This duo comes with black and purple shades, and they’re both gorgeous!

And finally, for lip products this Fall season, and also a part of NYX’s collaboration with ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, I picked up a couple of their “Sandworm Swirl” lip glosses/butters, with this purple-red combination being my favorite. Much like the shadow palette, the packing on this is adorable – and the formula itself leaves my lips soft, glossy, and with a berry-kissed tint that is perfect for the season.
