I’m well aware that not many of us have been actively wearing makeup in recent weeks. Not with quarantines, shelter-in-place orders and working remotely as we navigate through the COVID-19 situation. Getting dolled up just to stay at home seems like a waste of time and product, I’m sure.
But I’ve found that every once in a while- when I’m feeling a bit too isolated- putting on a little blush or some eyeshadow makes me feel some semblance of normalcy again and it’s strangely comforting. I know that I’m going to be so overly excited to do a full face of makeup when it’s safe to venture out to restaurants, venues and the theater again.
Before we reached this critical stage in attempting to flatten the curve and practice social distancing- I had been gradually transitioning out my “heavier” and darker/smokier/bolder Winter makeup to make way for lighter and more natural-looking shades of shadow and lipstick/lip gloss- all while maintaining a friendly budget to factor in now up-in-the-air-until-further-notice travel plans. I’ve never been one to discriminate against pharmacy beauty finds.
And while I’ve got a couple of late-night-quarantine splurges that will be arriving in a week or so (HUDA Beauty’s PASTEL Mint Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette, Urban Decay’s WIRED 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in “Shock,” and MILK Makeup’s KUSH High Volume Mascara – a longtime favorite of mine!)– I thought I’d share what’s in my collection so far this season.
Some of my collection isn’t pictured- like my concealer, my mascara and my finishing powder- since I’ve been using those same brand of products since the Winter- but you can read my thoughts on them by CLICKING HERE TO REVISIT MY WINTER MAKEUP COLLECTION.
But let’s take a look at what’s new! Swatches will be up near the end of the post.
e.l.f. Cosmetics BB Cream with SPF 20: This is the time of year when I bid farewell to medium-to-full coverage foundations and ease my way into super light, barely there BB creams and tinted moisturizers- which give me just the right amount of coverage and complexion correction without running off of me or getting “chalky” looking as the warmer weather approaches.
I’m big fan of this lightweight BB cream from e.l.f., which gives me an even, natural finish while simultaneously providing UVA/UVB protection and hydrating/skin soothing benefits. It stays in place all day without clogging my pores- and keeps my skin feeling soft even after I’ve washed it off.

COVERGIRL “Peach Punch” Highlighter & Contouring Palette: This Spring I thought I’d forgo my “barely there” highlighter-only-look I sported for most of the Fall and Winter and reintroduce some color and contour to my cheeks. I wasn’t really feeling pinks this year, so I opted for something a little more on the peachy/coral side.
This palette, which includes a light tan matte contour, a peach blush- and a cream-colored shimmery highlighter- help me create a “lit from within” glow that makes me look awake, alert and ready to rock my pastels and floral prints throughout the Spring.
The palette is touted as being peach-scented, as well- but it’s barely noticeable and hasn’t caused any kind of adverse reaction on my face- so those with sensitive skin should be okay to give this one a try!

Physicians Formula Rosé All Play Eyeshadow Bouquet: While I didn’t necessarily want pink shades on my cheeks this year- I knew I wanted them on my eyes. I’d had a lot of luck with Physicians Formula when it came time to find some holiday-inspired shimmer shades last year- so I turned to them again, and specifically their rosé collection- to get me through the Spring.
This pretty palette includes multiple mattes, satin-finishes and shimmers that can be applied wet or dry- and the colors are decently pigmented and long-lasting. I’ve been able to create multiple (and beautiful!) looks while playing around with this palette in recent weeks- and I can’t wait to show some of them off when quarantines and social distancing are a thing on the past!

The BrowGal Eyebrow Pencil: I haven’t been able to get my eyebrows cleaned up since February, and while some women can pull off the fluffy, sort-of-unkempt look- I am not one of them. I’m also not one to go rogue with the tweezers on my own (I tried it once way back when and it ended disastrously)– so I’ve turned to pencils and brushes to keep them tame and shaped the way I like.
Specifically, I’ve turned to this super convenient pencil from The BrowGal to brush any wild hairs back into place and keep any uneven spots from being too visible until I’m able to get them waxed and plucked by a professional again.

Treat Beauty Oatmeal Cream Pie Jumbo Lip Balm (with Colloidal Oatmeal): Spring 2020 is going to be the season where I keep it natural with my lips. I’m temporarily putting away my matte lipsticks/metallic glosses and focusing on hydrating and soothing balms, instead. Right now I’m obsessed with this one from Treat Beauty- which not only smooths my lips and keeps them soft- but tastes delicious, too.
I have a feeling I’m going to be ordering a ton more product from Treat Beauty in the coming weeks. They have a wide variety of flavors and their formulas are incredible.

Here’s the swatches of everything, by the way!
Once the makeup I recently purchased arrives- I’m sure I’ll have more to add to the list (they might even be featured in my Summer makeup collection- who knows!) but these are my everyday/every-other-day go-to’s during this season.
I think I may start sharing some of my Spring makeup looks over on my INSTAGRAM in the coming days/weeks, so be sure to check it out if you’re curious about what colors I’m playing around with while I’m in quarantine!
