When it came time to review and refresh my makeup collection for Spring 2022- I knew exactly what I wanted and more importantly- what I actually needed. Working with a reasonable budget and carrying over some of my still cherished products from my WINTER MAKEUP COLLECTION– I knew I wanted this season’s routine to be more lightweight in textures and with punches of fun, bright and unexpected colors.
I’m still loving and regularly using my ColourPop under-eye concealer, my pink & violet Chanel eyeshadow quad and various nude lipsticks/glosses on days where I’m working in my office or out running errands- but with warmer weather in the forecast and quite a bit of travel and events coming up within the next couple of weeks for me- I’ve been eager to mix things up a bit with my eyes, lips and cheeks as I begin to cycle out of my more neutral, subdued Winter wardrobe and start bringing back a few of my greatest hits (and some new arrivals!) from my assortment of Spring/Summer clothing and accessories.
With some recent stops at both Ulta and Sephora- I found exactly what I was looking for- and have been loving using these products in recent days and weeks.
I’m going to share all the swatches below- as is tradition, of course- and I’m also going to link my past collections/routines if anyone is curious!

2020: [ WINTER ] [ SPRING ] [ SUMMER ] [ FALL ]

e.l.f. Cosmetics Acne Fighting Putty Primer: For Spring, I wanted to change up how I primed my face since this is typically the time of year where my skin gets a little more oily. I needed something that would help me both combat breakouts and keep any of my makeup from creasing or breaking apart halfway trough my day- especially if it’s warmer out.
This lightweight and creamy primer- infused with both salicylic acid and Zinc to prevent blemishes and inflammation- dries quickly without making my skin feel sticky or greasy and holds my cover-up, concealer, blush, etc. in place all day until I’m ready for bed. Since I started using it, I’ve noticed a significant reduction in any bumps or redness in my typical “problem areas.”

M2U NYC Eye Primer: Much like my face primer, the Spring has seen me looking for an eye shadow primer that would not only keep my shadow/liner in place all day- but could also offer a little additional coverage since the inevitable pollen overload in New England tends to make my eyes look a little red and puffy from time to time.
This $8 primer (!!!) does all that and more- offering a subtle nude base that not only gives my lids a smooth and crease-free look, but it also extends the length and enhances the vibrancy of any shadows I apply over it, as well! For such a low price point- that’s an absolute steal!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: Like my primer, I knew that moving forward into the higher temperatures meant I’d need to grab a setting spray I could depend on. Vegan and cruelty-free- this lightly fragranced spray is transfer proof and longwearing for up to 16 hours. Although I don’t think I’ve ever kept makeup on that long (not since my early twenties, anyway!) this spray has kept my skin looking fresh and glowing all day and into the early evening when I typically call it a day and start my PM skincare routine.
And although there are plenty of other variations of this spray- mattifying, dewy finish, and Vitamin C- infused formulas- I’m a big fan of this original one. You can’t go wrong with it!

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint: One of my favorite things about the Spring and Summer months is that when it comes to my foundation/cover-up- I can switch to lighter, no hassle formulas and put my usual medium-to-full coverage and matte finish foundations on the back burner for a while since I’m not trying to even out any dryness or redness that the harsher, colder months in the Northeast cause (which is another justification I’m using when I move to a warmer climate someday- mark my words.)
This super light, long-lasting and skin perfecting foundation makes my complexion look flawless in a matter of seconds- no beauty blender or brushes required. It doesn’t crease, transfer or clog my pores- and Fenty’s extensive range of shades and undertones guarantees that it looks as natural as possible from all angles. I’m in love!

Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush in ‘Strawberry Drip’: I am obsessed with cream blushes in the Spring and Summer- mainly because they are so easy to blend on aforementioned lightweight foundations/tinted moisturizers or bare skin and because they look so natural- and this Spring I wanted to dip back into those formulas while getting a little more experimental with pinks/corals.
All of the Cheeks Out colors are stunning, non-greasy and impossibly easy to blend- but ‘Strawberry Drip’ has been my absolute favorite so far. I lightly tap a little bit of this rosy-coral hue along the tops of my cheekbones after I apply my foundation and it gives me a flush of beautiful color without completely taking over my face. It’s PERFECT for this time of year!

NYX Cosmetics Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Mattifying Powder: Don’t let the matte aspect of this powder throw anything off- I only apply a teeny tiny bit of this to my T-Zone to keep the oil in my skin in check and prevent shine by mid-day. Infused with rice powder, this super-fine formula prevents the makeup in my more problematic areas from breaking up as the day wears on while keeping my skin looking and feeling smooth.
And it’s under $10!

ColourPop Cosmetics Colour Stix in ‘We’re Off,’ ‘Free Time,’ and ‘Isla Vista’: In my Winter makeup collection, I had talked about leaning into liquid eye shadows and pencil shadows to make my morning routines a little easier now that I’m working in the office a couple of days a week again and wanted to simply my routine just a little in preparation for my early morning commutes.
Since then, I’ve played around with a lot of different formulas and brands- and I always come back to these tiny but pigmented shadow sticks from ColourPop. Long-lasting and water resistant- oh, and only $7 each- these twist-up sticks come in a variety of fun colors that are super easy to blend out. For the Spring, I stocked up on ‘We’re Off’- a beautiful aquamarine, ‘Free Time,’- a pretty coral and ‘Isla Vista’- a super fun tropical green.
And I’m sure I’ll be picking up more!

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara: Sure, this sample-sized tube is significantly smaller than a full-sized one- but I travel a lot (and honestly the smaller sizes make packing SO much easier!) and a little bit of this curling and lifting mascara from Benefit goes a long way so it takes me a while to go through a mini tube!
Long-lasting with no clumping, smudging or flaking- this mascara makes me look bright-eyed and awake- even if I stayed up too late the night before or have been sitting in front of a computer all day. It’s effective enough to take me from day to night without needing fixing or reapplication- and it gives me a “falsies” appearance without the glue or the need for perfect precision!

Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in ‘Pink Coral’: In keeping up with my “all things coral” theme this Spring- I made sure to stock up on a beautiful pink/coral shade in one of my favorite lip liner formulas from Maybelline. With no sharpening required, this super soft liner is perfect for on-the-go application and can be worn on it’s own as a way to fill in the lips with a flush of color or with a gloss on top for some extra shine- which I’ll get into in just a second!
I seriously have SO many shades of this liner formula. It is hands down the absolute best.

NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss in ‘Peaches and Cream’: Speaking of owning products in multiple shades- NYX’s Butter Glosses are by far one of my favorite lip products ever invented. They’re rich, hydrating, shiny and packed with color- and this pink/coral shade seemed like the perfect fit for my recently replenished liner.
This shade screams Spring (and Summer!) to me- and I’m looking forward to bringing the duo with me when I travel over the course of the next couple of weeks!
