It’s the first week of October, and any longtime readers/subscribers to ‘Coffee & Chiffon’ might already know what that means- it’s time for me to take a break from all things spooky and scary to talk about my makeup selections for the season! Every few months I love to clean out my makeup bag, tossing out any empty or expired products- and replenish/refresh my look with new shades and finishes from my eyes to my lips and everything in-between.
This Fall, while I’m still using my Summertime foundation and cream bronzer, I’ve incorporated a lot of beautiful berry tones throughout my powder eyeshadow choices and my lip balms and liquid lip colors. I love a good deep rose hue or a bold purple this time of year when my wardrobe becomes just a little more neutral and polished to keep things from looking too dull.
I’ll have swatches of the products listed below at the end of the post, and for those of you who may want to revisit some past “routines” and product assortments- here they are!

Now let’s get into some current makeup!
This season I have been obsessing over this ‘Berries & Cream’ eyeshadow palette from Violet Voss. Featuring a wide array of universally flattering neutral, pink and purple tones in matte, metallic and shimmery finishes- I’ve been able to take Summer’s bright ‘Barbiecore’ trend and make it more deep, dark and moody for these chillier, shorter Autumn days. The buttery soft formula is pigmented but easy to blend- and when paired over a proper primer- last all day and night without smudging, creasing or flaking.
And there’s no fallout with the sparkly shades- which makes this a dream to apply if you tend to go a little heavy handed like I do from time to time!

When it came time to switch up my mascara for the season and throw out the one I had been using throughout the Summer (since it was right on the expiration date doorstep!) I opted to try out the ‘Big Look’ mascara that PĆR Cosmetics had sent me just as September was kicking off. Loaded with Argan Oil and Vitamin E, this lengthening mascara applies smoothly and offers long-lasting benefits with continued use, like shinier and healthier lashes and decreased lash fallout.
The formula doesn’t budge- but it also doesn’t tug or painfully pull when using a makeup remover at the end of your day. I’ve been loving how my lashes look and feel with this one in recent weeks!

You all know I love a good tinted balm! They’re quick, easy to apply, and give a flush of color without the need for a liner or even a mirror most of the time. I can just apply and go and my lips will stay smooth and soft until I need a touch-up application.
This sheer balm (infused with avocado oil) from KEYS Soulcare is one of my favorite products in my purse at the moment. This shade, ‘Devotion,’ is subtle and flattering- and the formula is nourishing and silky to the touch. The colder it gets outside- the more I’m going to need this!

And finally, it just isn’t Fall if I don’t have a bold lip color on deck! This liquid matte lipstick from Pat McGrath Labs (in the shade ‘Wild Orchid’) is super pigmented, long-lasting, and absolutely beautiful when paired with my berry-toned eye shadow listed above. I’m such a big fan of this color and formula, which isn’t drying and doesn’t flake off or bleed outwards after application.
It’s a perfect Fall/Winter statement lipstick for every occasion- from days at work to nights out doing all the spooky things after dark!
