A Month to Remember: March 2022

Although the first day of Spring has officially come and gone in recent weeks- the season itself feels delayed in it’s arrival here in New England. We’ve been powering through many cold and dreary days that are occasionally and sporadically broken up by sunshine and higher temperatures which has been a little exhausting- but the silver lining is that it feels like the snow and sleet are finally going to take a vacation for a few months.

As chilly as March has been, it was still a month filled with fun outings in and around New England, starting new projects with longtime friends and doing some significant de-cluttering in both the physical and mental/emotional sense.

Desperate for the end of Winter- I kicked off March with a mini road-trip to the Berkshires for a visit at a small but satisfying bulb show, which served as a nice break from keeping it local with my stops at sugar shacks for breakfast or downtown holes-in-the-wall for lunch.

I did my best to help those in need in the Ukraine this month (and will continue to donate and raise funds for as long as I can) and- in the midst of all the headlines that were absolutely depressing- took some time to clean/organize my apartment, car, office and inboxes while simultaneously focusing on my mental and emotional health and “checking in” with myself– something that has become so crucial since the pandemic first started.

March saw me launch a podcast with my longtime friend Stef– where we talk about our favorite best-of-the-worst horror movies while cooking/baking together. It’s still in early, developmental, trial and error stages- but we’re having so much fun and I’m thrilled that our second episode will be up and running shortly.

Oh, and I also missed the St. Patrick’s Day Parade again this year- as is tradition! All of that in-between sharing some recipes and some of my favorite outfits here on ‘Coffee & Chiffon,’ of course.

And now with April just a couple of days away- I’m ready to finally (hopefully?) have some real Spring weather so I can share a few more of my favorite and photogenic local spots both here in the Pioneer Valley and back in my beloved Boston- which is leading up to a cross-country trip I have planned in Las Vegas for Easter weekend! I’m so excited to be going back, even if it’s only for a couple of days!

I’ll have more kitchen concoctions and Outfit-of-the-Days to post too- as I always do!- and a few other surprises that I’m lining up to make sure my Spring stays interesting, but I’m very much looking forward to the weeks ahead!

But here’s to March- which feels like it flew by in the blink of an eye- and to April giving us an opportunity to actually slow down and enjoy the Springtime!
