A Month to Remember: October 2026

And just like thar – we’ve reached the (almost) end of October! Where does the time go? While I prepare for a night of horror movie marathoning and spooky game playing with friends after work today and then making sure I’ve got enough candy stocked up to hand out to kids in the neighborhood tomorrow night when they come around for Trick-or-Treating, I wanted to take a little bit of time this morning to give this month – my favorite out of the year – a proper send-off despite it feeling like it went by way too quickly! My apartment is filled with pumpkins and I’m not ready to say goodbye to them just yet!

I had started this month by spotlighting a Vermont-based used book store that has the cutest aesthetic this time of year before it was time for me to celebrate a blogging milestone (1,000 posts!) while in the midst of leaf-peeping with friends and extended family who were visiting the area.

I shared seasonal recipes and wardrobe pieces from time to time as I always do every month, as well as my current makeup collection, and briefly battled not one – but two! – pesky colds/flus that blew through my office and family like a couple of tornadoes (and I’m all better now, thankfully!) before I got back into full-blown spooky mode, including exploring Old Sturbridge Village for their Halloween event and Wickford Village in Rhode Island within the same weekend.

My boyfriend took me on one of the most magical foliage hikes in New Hampshire this month, I saw live music from one of my favorite bands (Interpol!), and checked out both a really fun arts & crafts festival in Woodstock and a beloved porch pumpkin display in Watch Hill.

And finally, I spent this past weekend solving a (pretend!) murder mystery and carving pumpkins in the woods with some of my besties, which is the ideal way to wind down the peak month, in my opinion.

Overall, October has been filled with quality time with some of my favorite people in the world, exploring new places while revisiting some longtime beloved ones for the season, being out in nature during one of the most gorgeous Autumns we’ve had in a while, and giving myself the opportunity to rest when I needed to as we get ready to get into the very busy holiday season and the last couple of months of 2026. I feel so grateful and so fulfilled – which is all I could ask for!

November will also undoubtedly be filled with more time with friends and family as we finalize plans for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, and the start of early-Christmastime events and festivities. My boyfriend’s birthday is within a few days, as is the tentative closing date for one of my dear friends who recently purchased a house and will be moving out-of-state at a soon-to-be-determined dare.

But I’ll be sharing it all, including more recipes, more outfits, more “Local Loves” installments and everything in-between in the coming weeks ahead!

So here’s to October – a month I truly wish could stick around much longer – and a big thank-you to it for being so much fun and so full of magical memories I will cherish forever.

And here’s to the hope that November is filled with just as much magic, even more time with those we love and adore, plenty of gratitude and an abundance of beautiful moments we can carry with us.

See you all next week – and Happy Halloween!
