There’s so many things I love about the Fall season and the crisper, cooler months – from the food, the fashion, and the décor, of course – but I also really appreciate how this time of year acts as a nice transitional period between the two seasons that tend to wreak the most havoc on my skin and hair, Summer and Winter. This time of year (and Spring, as well – which also serves as a lovely transitional period in New England!) is when I can pause, take a breath, and not have to spend my mornings and nights combatting frizz, dry/cracked skin, sun damage, overproducing oil in my T-Zone, etc.
So this Fall, when the temperatures gradually began to drop and I first started to feel my skin change with the season, I knew I had to adapt, too – specifically with my cleanser, my toner, and eye cream since I need a little more TLC around my eyes when we start inching a bit closer to Winter and the impending, inevitable freeze that comes with it.
Before I share this season’s installment of the new additions to my bathroom countertop, I’m going to link to some past installments of this series – especially since I still use and revisit so many of the products I’ve featured in the past – even now!

I started to feel tightness in my cheeks around the same time I started getting frost on my windshield in the morning, and when I discussed it with my aesthetician during a brow wax and dermaplaning session earlier in the season, she recommended I swap our my usual combo skin face wash for an oil cleanser, instead. Right away, I noticed a difference in both the feel and the texture of my skin – which looks bright and feels soft to the touch.
I like to do a double cleanse with this one. The first to remove makeup, dirt and oil, and the second to get any residual ickiness from the day out of my pores before it’s time to tone and moisturize.
Speaking of toner, I had seen this new addition to the Trader Joe’s skincare line trending on social media with generally positive reviews and decided to give it a try. After shaking the toner up, spritzing some onto my face and neck, and giving it a few minutes to settle into my skin with a couple of pats here and there – I was left visibly hydrated and dewy. It makes applying my moisturizer and my eye cream a little easier, too!
Finally, about said eye cream – this season I returned to an old flame of mine, Clinique, and their famous ‘All About Eyes’ gel to tap underneath my eyes and along my brow bone to reduce puffiness, dark circles (which notoriously reappear now that it gets dark out at 4PM again!) and hydrate any dry spots or fine lines. I used this one constantly in my 20s and am giving it another chance now that I’m a little older – and I’ve been quite happy with the results so far!

For my hair care this season, I don’t have much to report on since I’m still using many of the products that were in both my Spring and Summer routines from earlier this year – but I’m sure that’ll change once we cross the threshold into Winter by the end of next month!
If you’d like to share your own Autumnal skin/hair routines or products you’ve really been enjoying in recent weeks, feel free to reach out or drop me a line! I’m always looking for new things to help me and my curls out these days!
See you all again soon!
