I always try to take some time off from work between Halloween and Thanksgiving. If not a whole week or longer, then just a couple of days here and there. This year, I opted for a full week off to complete some errands/tasks, tidy up my apartment so it’ll be easier to decorate once I bring out the Christmas décor, get my pre-orders in for Thanksgiving pies, celebrate my boyfriend’s upcoming birthday a little later on this week and overall just pause to rest, relax and take a breath before the inevitable hustle and bustle of the holiday season begins.
It’s been a really good week so far. Halloween was low-key and stress-free, spent eating pizza, playing with Oliver (who loves greeting trick-or-treaters!) and passing out candy from my childhood home. There was enough left over for me to bring home to share and enjoy – so I’d say it was a success!

I was able to enjoy a spa day on Monday where I had one of the greatest skincare sessions of my life, as well as vote at my leisure yesterday and still have time at the end of the afternoon to enjoy a lovely dinner at The Farm Table in Bernardston. They have their Autumn menu up and running right now, and I highly recommend the pork chop with apples, sweet potatoes and green beans. It was so good!
They’re also taking reservations for their Thanksgiving buffet – so it you don’t feel like cooking or dealing with the clean-up – it’s worth checking out!

A little later on this week, I’ll have another installment of “Local Loves” to share before I recap the second half of this little “Stay-cation” by next week, so stay tuned!
