My Fall Makeup Routine!

I’ll never say no to having a Monday off, especially since I’ve spent the last couple of days battling the anticipated-but-never-particularly-welcomed seasonal cold I usually get around this time of year. Although I’m on the mend, it’s still frustrating (especially since I want to be out there doing all the spooky things!) but I’m grateful for an additional day of rest so I can recover just a little bit faster.

With not much more than getting coffee and decorating for Halloween on my agenda today, I thought now would be a good time as any to share some of the new additions to my current makeup routine/collection since I recently did a big clean-out of the empties and expired products in my bag and picked out some new palettes and replacements for the colder months ahead. It’s time for more berry tones and neutrals, y’all!

As always, I’ll include links to what I’m showing here and swatches near the end of the post – and I’ll link to all of the past collections I’ve shared over the years for anyone who feels like doing some time traveling!

Alright, let’s get into a little show and tell!

This time around, I’m starting with a new lipstick I picked up since I’m scraping the bottom of the tube of a Charlotte Tilbury one I’ve worn pretty much every single day over the past few months. This neutral-toned, satin-finish lipstick via L’Oreal Paris in the shade “Toasted Almond” goes on smooth, stays in place for longer than you’d expect from a drug store brand – and immediately makes my lips look fuller and plumper upon application.

This shade is perfect for the Fall, especially since I’m starting to wear a lot more earthy tones for the season, and it looks so flattering with my complexion this time of year.

Working up to the apples of my cheeks, I wanted a more matte and darker-hued blush than the shimmery golden/coral one I’ve been using since the Spring, and Clinique recently launched a series of blushes, liners, and mascaras inspired by their longtime cult favorite “Black Honey” lipstick.

I had swatched the blush and loved how it looked like a subtle pink/plum shade against my skin, and I’ve been wearing it daily ever since to give my face a little pop of berry-toned color when I’m heading out for the day – regardless of what I’ve got planned!

For my eyes this season, I wanted to keep it simple – a matte and shimmer shadow, a gel liner, and a new mascara – nothing overtly complicated and something I could wear every day without issue.

For shadow, I turned to Rabanne and their miniature eyeshadow duos to keep in my purse. I’d ultimately selected the “Pumpkin Spice Latte” duo, not just because of the name but because the shades include a light brown matte and a copper-colored shimmer, both with a buttery smooth texture and some serious longevity. I’m obsessed!

As for my liner, I splurged a little on this pot of Bobbi Brown gel specifically because I loved it’s shimmery coffee color that I feel like I’ve been searching for since I worked for Clinique so many years ago (and they’ve long since discontinued their liner pots!) This product also has some superb staying power and is a dream to apply with the right brush!

And finally, circling back to Clinique’s limited edition “Black Honey” series – I also grabbed the High Impact Mascara in the shade during my recent restock since it coats my lashes with a dark brown/plum tone that makes the blue in my eyes really pop. It’s not very often I wear mascara in shades other than black, but I’ve been loving this one so much since I bought it!

And there we have it! That’s all the new stuff I’ve added to my collection for the Fall – although I’ve got some swatches to share, too!

Of course, if anyone has any recommendations to share for products or brands I should check out this time of year, feel free to reach out or drop me a line! I always love trying out new and different things!

I’ll see you all again in a couple of days! Coffee and Spirit Halloween awaits!
