There’s only a few days left in October, and while I am still unsuccessfully petitioning for the month to be extended an additional thirty-one days (give me a politician who is running on that promise!) I also know I have to get ready to bid it a fond farewell until next year when we meet again. That means dusting off my Thanksgiving decorations this coming weekend and finding some space for when the Christmas ones inevitably come out of storage.
But it also means it’s time to do my monthly round-up of “Favorite Things” – including purchases, gifts, and miscellaneous odds & ends that made this past October extra special!
As always, I’ll share the photogenic finds before I get into the random things that made the list this month, so let’s get started!

I was determined to make all facets of my apartment cozy and relaxing this Fall, especially now that it’s getting dark out earlier and earlier in the day which always takes a toll on me. One of those facets was my shower. The lighting in my apartment has never been particularly forgiving or flattering, save for the huge amounts of sunlight I get through the windows in my living room and bedroom during the day – but my bathroom has no windows at all. My showers never feel particularly relaxing.
Until I bought this waterproof, chargeable lamp, anyway! With a brightness adjuster, long battery life and easy to wipe down surfaces, I keep this lamp on one of the shelves in my shower and it has made such a difference in the overall aura of my apartment this time of year. The glow is soft, but I can still see clearly, and it is definitely one of the coziest additions to my daily routine!

These ceramic coasters I’ve strategically placed around my apartment are also cozy, of course. My boyfriend likes to move around with his beverages and morning coffee, and I’ve often found the empty glasses or mugs resting on my windowsills, nightstand, or countertops. Not wanting to have to continually clean up rings around my furniture over and over, I grabbed a six-pack of these Autumnal coasters to place around the areas where the infractions occur the most – and they’ve made a difference!
Now I just have to find a similar set for Christmas and Wintertime!

You cant tell from the photo, but this knitted beanie is a dark olive green shade (one of my favorite colors!) and I have been wearing it religiously this month since the first frost appeared on the ground weeks ago. It’s warm, cozy, and brings out both the red in my hair and the blue in my eyes pretty intensely.
If there was ever an “October Uniform” – this would definitely be included!

And finally, Trader Joe’s has done it again – this time with their salted maple cold foam – a seasonal favorite which I would inject directly into my veins if it were possible. This stuff is *so* delicious, and elevates the morning coffees I make at home so much that I’m planning on running out to stock up on a few more cannisters before they start removing their Fall stuff from the shelves in the coming weeks ahead.
If you have not tried this, please do yourself a favor and buy one as soon as possible – and try not to just eat it directly from the cannister (which I have done. More than once.)

And while that just about sums up the things I could snap photos of for this installment, a couple of other things made the list this month, too!
– MOVIES/MUSIC/TELEVISION –
‘The Whisper Man’ – Troy and I recently watched this psychological crime thriller on Netflix. Starring Adam Scott, Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan and Michael Keaton, this one kept us on our toes and kept us guessing until the very end. We loved it – and I highly recommend it for a final Spooky Season watch since it also has some supernatural elements to it, as well!
‘Camp Crystal Lake’ – I also binged this long-awaited series this month on Peacock, which served as a prequel to the ‘Friday The 13th’ movies/franchise. Starring Linda Cardellini as Pamela Vorhees (who I was rooting for the whole time!) leading up to and following the death of her son, Jason – this one was just a really fun, really gory watch leading up to Halloween, and is everything a horror series should be!

And that’s it for this month’s round-up! I’m looking forward to seeing what makes the list in November – although I’ve already got some ideas!
I’ll be back this coming Friday with a look at October in it’s entirety – including all the fun, spooky things I did – before we finally head into Halloween!
