1,000 Posts and 1,000 Leaves..

I hadn’t realized I’d reached a blogging milestone here on ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘ until I’d gone back to make some revisions and add a few more foliage photos to this update when I noticed that this post is actually my 1,000th! I never in a million years thought I’d reach that number back when I’d first started this blog in 2020 and was still struggling to get my footing on what was then a new and (still) deeply personal endeavor, but here we are!

I’m so proud of how far this little blog has come, through triumphs and tragedies, big life changes and challenges – and looking back at my earlier posts feels like I’m looking back at another lifetime all together, be it my writing style, my photography skills (or lack thereof!) or even just where I was at that stage in my life. I’ve grown and evolved so much over the years, and so has my humble corner of the internet and social media that I’ve carved out for myself.

And I’m so grateful for everyone who has been here throughout this journey – whether you’ve read ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘ from the beginning or if we’re still getting acquainted. Every like, every comment, share, collaboration and every message I’ve received over these nearly several (!!) years has been so touching and has meant so much to me. Thank you – all of you! – for your ongoing support and encouragement. I’m hoping to make it to another 1,000 posts eventually!

I took today off from work for a scheduled trip to New Hampshire with my boyfriend and to recover from an Interpol show I saw in Boston last night. It’s so funny to think that a little over a week ago I was laughing and dancing gleefully at a Brandon Flowers concert, only to cry real ugly tears during last night’s set. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, because the songs are so beautiful and Interpol means so much to me – but my God, is some of it so, so sad!

Over this past weekend, I found myself up in Vermont – twice! The first little road trip, on Friday afternoon, was to grab some pumpkins and apple cider doughnut sundaes with Dan and his parents over at Equinox Valley Nursery, a spot I’ve written about before and one Dan’s family introduced me to way back when. It had been raining on and off that day, and the fog that rolled in over the mountains made for an incredible backdrop given how bright the trees were looking as we drove North!

Afterwards, we headed into nearby downtown Manchester to do some window shopping and grab dinner at The Copper Grouse where I had an incredible blackberry cocktail and a perfectly cooked New York Strip. I’d love to go back and see more of the area after the tourism winds down a bit – because it’s always packed this time of year. Not that I blame anyone for heading to Southern Vermont, of course. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

On Saturday, it was back up North – this time to Wilmington, Vermont – to get some more snapshots of the rapidly changing leaves since the sun was shining brightly and there wasn’t any fog obstructing the views. I went for a brief hike on a creek-side trail and found a couple of turn-off areas along the roadways to really take in all the colors at my leisure, and they were breathtaking!

I don’t even think my photos do it justice. It’s truly something you’d have to behold in person.

I love living in New England so much. I can’t imagine spending my Autumns anywhere else. It’s pure magic here.

I’m hoping to get some more beautiful pictures during today’s planned adventure – which includes a waterfall! – and I’ll be sure to share them here when I do!

See you all soon for post 1,001 in a couple of days!
