It’s been a busy few days as I finalize plans for Halloween Eve and Halloween Night in-between working, putting the finishing touches on a costume for a murder mystery dinner I’m participating in this coming weekend, and finalizing plans for some travel at the beginning of November for my boyfriend’s birthday – but I’ve still made a point to check out local events and seasonal celebrations happening in and around New England as of late.
This past Saturday I headed down to Woodstock, Connecticut to stop by the town’s annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival at Roseland Cottage – a beautiful and historical home I last wrote about in 2021. Hundreds of vendors set up shop around the grounds and gardens surrounding the mansion for the weekend to both sell and promote their businesses, artwork and products.
The weather was perfect and brisk, and I enjoyed a hot chocolate while I did some browsing, taste testing and got some early holiday shopping done while being introduced to local businesses I can’t wait to seek out again in the future. It was really fun, and I’m hoping to check out next year’s festival, as well!
On Sunday, I made the drive down to Watch Hill Beach in Rhode Island to do a little more gift shopping now that peak tourism season has winded down for the year and check out the newly installed pumpkin display at Ocean House, which made for a long and beautiful walk along the water and up by the resort.
The display itself was beautiful and creative, of course, but I loved how quiet and peaceful the neighborhood was while I was there. It’s such a contrast from the Summertime when it’s nearly impossible to find parking or stroll along the busy sidewalks with ease. The “off seasons” are definitely the perfect time to visit so many of the popular coastal destinations around the Northeast. The ocean is beautiful year-round, after all!

Later on this week, I’ll be sharing a little impulse purchase I made for myself while I was at Watch Hill Beach since it’s the perfect piece to wear in this season’s current weather. I’ve been obsessed with how soft and cozy it is – and I can’t wait to talk about it!
See you all on Friday!
