Happy October’s Eve, everyone! As excited as I am to dive right into my favorite month out of the year and all things Halloween- and also head out to New York a little later on today for a wedding I’m attending this weekend- I wanted to tip my hat to September 2022, first- a month packed with good food, good friends, travel to new locations and plenty of Autumnal activities and adventures!
I started September on the heels of my late-August Vegas/San Diego trip where I was getting re-acclimated to my own time zone and Fall-In-New-England climate. Not wanting to waste any time with some of my “obligatory” seasonal activities and traditions, it didn’t take me long at all to head to some of my long-time favorite apple orchards and pumpkin patches and swing by a local Harvest Festival for cider, delicious food and homemade gifts for friends and family.
I also shared a couple of newer favorite spots of mine that are perfect to visit this time of year- a café in Sturbridge, Massachusetts and a farm stand/gift shop in Huntington, Massachusetts.
I began my “Historic Haunts” series a little early this year to allow for more time to share some additional locations in and around New England- kicking things off with a visit to the remnants of a famous hospital from my hometown. The series continued while I was in Schenectady, New York near the end of the month and visited the peculiar Vedder Family Cemetery– which rests in a shopping mall parking lot.
My trip to New York was made possible due to Troy visiting for a couple of weeks for his job and was precedent by a few days out and about in the Berkshires. After our return from Schenectady over this past weekend- we had a few more days to catch up and spend time with friends at local parties and art museums– which was a really great way to close out the month.
So what’s in store for October? (After I get back from New York on Sunday, I mean!) Well, plenty of Halloween-centric day trips, some more local history- a couple of concerts and a possible weekend getaway to D.C. to spend time with some of my friends in the coming weeks ahead!
And that’s in-between sharing more recipes, outfits, makeup and so much more! I’m so excited to get started- but I want to enjoy these last hours of September- because this really was a wonderful month and I’ll look back on it fondly.
See you all next week!
