A Few of My Favorite Things: September 2022

I know for a fact that I’ve talked about my love of the month of September in detail and at length throughout the past couple of years since ‘Coffee & Chiffon’ first launched- and how it serves as a beautiful and gradual transition into the peak of Fall, foliage, Halloween and then the brisker and shorter days of November. This September in particular has been very memorable- filled with travel to new places and time spent with longtime friends among local festivals, apple orchards and pumpkin patches. As excited as I am for October and all the spooky things I have lined up for it- I’m a little sad to see September go so soon.

At least it feels like it’s so soon, anyway!

But I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. Later on this week I’ll have a full reflection on September 2022 up and running here on the blog. Before that, I wanted to talk about some of my favorite items, products and finds that helped make this past month a cozy, comfortable delight- ranging from seasonal body products, makeup and some of the coolest socks I’ve ever stumbled across.

There are a few other things worth mentioning, too- but I’ll get into those after I share the odds and ends I could capture with my camera, first!

Without further delay, these are my favorite things from September!

It should come as no surprise that as soon as Bath & Body Works announced a sale on their Fall-inspired body washes, lotions, sprays and scrubs- I immediately stocked up on a few of my favorites to keep my skin soft, glowing and smelling amazing (and of course I got some candles, too!)

I’ve been a longtime fan of their ‘Pumpkin Pecan Waffles’ collection- which is the fragrance I gravitated towards the most when filling up my virtual cart at the beginning of the month. Since then, both myself and my shower consistently smell delicious and very Autumn-esque- which has been perfect on the cooler, rainy days that have become a little more frequent here in Massachusetts.

Buying all new body care stuff for the season is one of my favorite traditions!

When brands and companies began rolling out their Autumn collections, special/limited edition items and products- it was Too Faced‘s (one of my Top 10 cosmetics brands!) bringing back their Pumpkin Spice eye shadow palette and matte lip gloss that had me reaching for my purse almost immediately.

I’m going to dive into both of these products more in-depth next month when I talk about my Fall makeup collection, but for now I’ll say that these beautifully-scented, buttery smooth and highly pigmented products have been helping me create gorgeous looks throughout this month- from the mornings spent sipping cider at Harvest Festivals to dinner dates out on the town.

I’m so excited to share some swatches and close-ups of everything soon!

And finally, targeted ads on social media- which can be downright bizarre at times- actually led me in a pretty great direction when an advertisement for Nordic Socks popped up on one of my feeds. Made with soft wool and in a wide array of pretty colors and patterns that are perfect for the season- I ordered the 5-pair SVEA set earlier this month- and I couldn’t be happier!

These socks are super comfy and durable- and are going to be a great thing to wear with my boots now that I’ve taken them out of storage and cleaned them up for the months ahead. I appreciate anything that will keep my feet warm and dry on rainy days- and these are definitely it!

So that just about does it for the items I could take photos of this month, but a few other things made my list of favorites, too- and I’m ready to get right into those next!

‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’ – I do want to preface this by saying that I’ve been on the fence about tuning into this series as I, along with many others who adamantly vocalized their displeasure, worried it would glorify one of the most sadistic serial killers the world has ever known- especially in the hands of Ryan Murphy who has never really had qualms about taking things to an uncomfortable level before.

But Evan Peters is a phenomenal actor and I tuned in just to see him- even if it was briefly- and I ended up watching the entire series and not hating it. The episodes focus more on Dahmer’s victims and their stories rather than Dahmer himself- which is how most of True Crime content should be, honestly.

It was difficult to watch at times, for sure- but overall I was surprised and engrossed with the entirety of the series.

Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters Apple Cider Doughnut Cold Brew – So this favorite is more of a local thing here in the Pioneer Valley, but the coffee shop in my neighborhood recently launched their seasonal menu for the Fall and this cold brew is hands down the best thing on it. I get mine with a splash of oat milk- and it’s like drinking a slice of freshly baked apple pie with my breakfast.

I’ve been obsessed– and I try to get one a few times a week if I have the time to stop by!

And there we have it! My favorite thing for September 2022! A very cute and very Fall assortment of items and oddities, if I do say so myself! I’m quite happy with everything shown and discussed- and I’m looking forward to compiling my next collection near the end of October!
