A Month to Remember: May 2026

I always catch myself saying “I wish time would slow down!” both inside my head and out loud, usually during bittersweet moments, incredible trips/vacations, or milestones that came out of nowhere – or sometimes when I just feel like I’m getting older far too quickly and need a second to catch my breath and take things in at a more comfortable pace.

Thankfully, May 2026 pat me on the top of my head this time around and said “don’t worry, I’ve got this” because this month felt so much more at ease, slow-paced, and dare I say so relaxing at so many intervals that I almost completely forgot that next week marks the beginning of June and a whole bunch of things I have planned to kick of the Summer accordingly.

This month saw me joining a Summertime book club for the first time since I was a kid (and was reading books like crazy just to get a pizza back then!) and begin the early stages of planning a possible road trip I’ll be taking later on in the Summer and/or beginning of Fall – a trip I’ve wanted to take since I was a kid – which has been a really fun process of looking through guides and maps and inspiration boards compiled by other travelers.

My boyfriend began a new career endeavor this month, as well, one that is bringing him back home to New England permanently for the first time in several years. I’m not only excited for this opportunity for him and the doors it will open as he progresses in his job, but I’m just so thankful that he’ll be close by again and that we won’t have to keep hopping on planes to go back and forth to see each other. It feels like such a relief – not only to our relationship but to our bank accounts, too.

Throughout this month I shared my usual looks inside my closet and looks inside my kitchen, but I had started things off here on the blog with a glimpse into my current late Spring/early Summer skin & hair care collection before it was immediately time to head back into Boston with a recap of one of the cutest, coastal-inspired restaurants on Newbury Street and an afternoon spent at my favorite art museum in the country – although the day was the ultimate test of patience given the limited time exhibit/event that was happening at the time.

I treated my mom to a fantastic brunch in Connecticut for Mother’s Day, was introduced to an incredible record shop/café just minutes away from my apartment, and spent a weekend not only celebrating the grand seasonal opening of one of my favorite Summertime hangout spots – but also spent an afternoon cuddling up with baby goats and alpacas, too!

I stopped by Chester, Connecticut for some of my favorite pizza in New England when I wasn’t exploring a historic and quirky castle filled with fun surprises and artifacts – and that was all in one afternoon!

And finally, as the month started to wind down, I headed up to Old Orchard Beach, Maine for a quick weekend away in preparation for Memorial Day where I had a lovely time exploring shops, eating seafood, and riding amusement park rides to my heart’s content. Even though the last day of my stay started to get rained out – I still had such a wonderful time.

And now with June just a couple of days away, I’m spending this last weekend of May recording a podcast with my friend Stef, trying to catch a screening of ‘The Backrooms’ since it was released today – and potentially heading down to Rhode Island to stock up on some croissants from one of my favorite bakeries and see if the hydrangeas are starting to show themselves yet!

Next month, I’ll be heading down to North Carolina for a quick visit with Andrew and the kids shortly after June kicks off, attending a lobster bake in Maine to celebrate Father’s Day accordingly, more than likely spending plenty of time at the Cape now that the season is upon us, checking in on my New Years Resolutions progress since we’re nearly at the halfway mark of 2026 – and so much more! I’m excited to write about all of it!

Have a great weekend ahead, everyone! See you all in June!
