A Month to Remember: February 2022

Is it Spring yet? No? We have more snow on the way? Okay then. While I sit here sulking and impatiently waiting for the flowers and trees to start blooming again- I thought I’d talk about this past month that was before we dive into March (and tomorrow’s official Mardi Gras holiday!)

February in New England can be an unpredictable thing as it serves as the transitional time between the dead of Winter and the beginning of Spring. This month saw us have our usual intense amounts of snowfall- occasionally broken up by sporadic days of sixty degree temperatures and sunshine- only to get buried under more snow again when we thought it was finally safe to start losing some of our layers when going outdoors.

Shoveling and sliding around aside, I spent a lot of time getting fresh air throughout February- from hiking to a historic landmark that overlooks my apartment, to checking out a popular skiing/snowboarding area and braving snow squalls to get some pastries. Of course, frigid temperatures and bundling up in hats/scarves/etc. can do a number on my skin and hair- so I shared the products that I’ve been using religiously throughout this Winter.

This month also saw me indulging in all the best food, from take-out to commemorate the Lunar New Year, Super Bowl snacks, a multi-course meal to treat myself for Valentine’s Day and a New Orleans-inspired dinner with friends to kick off the Mardi Gras celebrations. With warmer weather and longer periods of sunlight on the horizon- I’ll be able to burn off all those extra calories a little quicker with more outdoor workouts/jogging- and I can’t wait!

I did my usual baking/cooking throughout February, and shared some of my wardrobe- as is my posting tradition- but I also picked up some new additions to my closet at one of my favorite local boutiques that I’m excited to share in the coming weeks ahead!

So what do I have in planned for “Coffee & Chiffon” in March? Well, it will involve a lot of flowers as they begin to bloom in the next couple of months, and while most of my travel throughout February was limited to places in and around Greenfield and the Pioneer Valley- I’m looking forward to branching out to a few different places throughout New England next month (with even farther destinations planned for late Spring and into the Summer!)

Weather permitting, of course! We know how wild it can be- especially where I live!

And with all that being said, here’s a tip of my hat to February, a very busy and very brisk month, indeed- and to warmer, sunnier days ahead!
