We’ve reached that sweet spot in-between the tail end of the Summer season and the true beginning of Autumn where there’s a chill in the air during the early mornings and then again in the evenings now that the sun is starting to set a little earlier each day. It’s not cold enough to warrant a wool coat, a scarf or gloves just yet, but it’s just brisk enough where you need add a layer or two to keep comfortable.
But this very same chill is punctuated by scorching hot mid-afternoon temperatures that, if you’re wearing anything more than shorts and a t-shirt, you’re going to sweat a lot.
The solution? A good old fashioned hoodie, of course! Easy to throw on, easy to take off, and just warm enough to stay cozy, cool and casual for whatever you’ve got planned.
This buttery soft Provincetown hoodie was a find during my Summer Girls Trip to the Cape last month and has been my go-to for covering up ever since. I’ve worn it over dresses, with jeans, with my pajama pants when I’m working from home, and over swimwear on more than one occasion throughout August and the early days of September. But I recently wore it with another one of my transitional seasonal favorites – a tennis skirt – during an afternoon out with my friend Dan while we were grabbing lunch and catching up in Southern Vermont.
And although I’ve been loving my sandals throughout the Summer, I’m gradually easing back into sneakers and eventually boots as the season progresses. I’m trying to get as much wear as I can out of these Sperry slip-ons before I have to retire them until next Spring because I love them so much.
I’m excited to start breaking out some lightweight sweaters, some Fall-friendly dresses, and definitely some seasonal accessories as the days/weeks progress – and I’m going to try to showcase as many of them here as I do!
