With today being a holiday and a designated day off from work, I’m excited to be heading out for a bit of a “Girls Afternoon” with my mom and my friend Stef to do some Fall décor shopping and grab lunch before I scoop up Oliver for a car ride and some ice cream (since he deserves a treat, too!) The air is crisp, the sun is shining – and it’s shaping up to be a lovely Labor Day!
This past weekend was also lovely – and productive! – since I started some seasonal tidying up and began the process of packing up my Summer furnishings, washing and drying my lighter sheets, comforters and blankets so I’m prepared when it’s time to begin putting them in storage for the Fall/Winter in exchange for heavier materials to keep me warm at night, and cleaning out my cupboards and kitchenware since I’m gradually easing back into crockpot cooking and cozier recipes again.
And although I’m not swapping out my wardrobe/closet just yet (I’m wearing shorts as I write this!) I am getting my hoodies fluffy and fresh since there’s a chill in the early mornings and evenings now.
But as busy as I’ve been, I still made time for some whimsical fun when I traveled to Lexington, Massachusetts to visit Wilson Farm and their famous pumpkin wall which was set up and officially opened to visitors as of a couple of days ago. The wall appears every other year, and since I’d missed it in 2024 and it wasn’t constructed last year – I knew I wanted to see it ASAP this time around – and it’s just as impressive in person as it appears on social media!
Wilson Farm is a Fall Lovers’ dream (but they’re open year-round, too!) They have freshly baked apple cider doughnuts, caramel apples, a huge variety of pumpkins and gourdes – some of which I’d never even heard of until now! – and a ton of fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses and prepared meals you can simply heat up at home. I stocked up on so many things to enjoy over the next few days and everything I’ve tried so far has tasted divine.
I also stopped by their bakery where they had the most fun cupcakes I’ve ever seen, including ones that resembled Oliver! I couldn’t resist picking up a couple to bring to my mom and to show him to see his reaction.
I think even he thought they were uncanny, really!
A little later on this week, I’m going to be sharing one of many Summer-to-Winter transitional pieces I’ve been wearing as of late (and it’s super casual!) as well as putting together another installment of my ‘Local Loves’ series.
And I’m sure I’ll be sharing some of the finds I pick up today, as well!
