A Mini Holiday Vacation!

Greetings from Odenton, Maryland! I’ve been staying here and visiting with my dear friend Andrew and he and Kelsey’s children from now through the morning of Christmas Eve (when I’ll be flying home to spend the remainder of the holiday weekend with my mother, brothers, niece, sister-in-law, aunts/uncles/cousins, etc., etc.)

Andrew, Haven and Archer moved here from Las Vegas this past Fall for Andrew’s job, and have been in the process of setting up and getting acclimated to their beautiful new house, the kids’ new school/daycare, and their new friends and neighbors ever since. Given the upcoming holidays and Andrew’s work schedule as he continues to get things in order at home- and the fact that I haven’t seen them all since this past May– I came down to help out with cooking, bath & bedtimes and transport to and from the classrooms for the next few days.

I’ve been having an absolute blast since my arrival this past Wednesday morning. As always, it’s so good to see and be with everyone again, and this part of Maryland (just outside of D.C!) is really lovely and festive this time of year. This is my last road trip/vacation of 2021- and it’s exactly what I needed and wanted right before Christmas and my getting ready for the New Year.

And seeing as how I want to truly unwind and enjoy myself without the distractions that can come with my work or looming deadlines- and focus entirely on the kids- I’m taking a few days off from blogging next week to do just that. There won’t be any posts Monday or Wednesday- but I’ll be back on Friday morning (just in time for Christmas!) with a recap of this trip- including all of the photos I’ve been taking. Believe me, there’s a LOT– and it’s only been a couple of days so far!

And then the week after that, I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite things from this December, as well as a selection of the best photographs I’ve snapped throughout this year and during all of my travels- and a complete recap of 2021 in it’s entirety before we all take another little break for New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day/New Year’s Weekend!

I hope you all have a wonderful and peaceful few days ahead- and that you take some time to savor the little things that make this season so wonderful and fun. I’m looking forward to being back at the end of next week!

And if you’d like to follow along on my adventures while I’m on the road for this next week- feel free to check out MY INSTAGRAM.

See you all soon!
