A Few of My Favorite Things: September 2026

Having made it through the recent Nor’easter (and the wind was intimidating!) and with September winding down within the next few days, I used a portion of my indoor time this past weekend to compile my monthly “Favorite Things” collection in-between doing some Fall-inspired baking and watching a few cozy classics while I listened to the rain fall outside and snuggled up with one of my ultra plush blankets on the couch.

I’m going to have the full recap of the month of September in all it’s glory up on the blog within the next couple of days, but I wanted to share this round-up first since it includes a couple of treasured gifts (one more edible than others!) and some splurges I’ve been obsessed with over these past few weeks – as well as a few miscellaneous finds I’ve really been enjoying!

That being said, I’m ready to get right into it!

October and the beginning of Spooky Season are just days away, and something that I truly appreciate and love about my friends is that they know me so well and never hesitate to encourage my inner “Halloween Queen.” For example, my dear friends The Quinns recently saw this Ouija Board printed handbag and picked it up for me since they know I’d adore it – and I truly do!

I’ve been waiting for the start of October to use this one since it fits all of my belongings perfectly and is going to match pretty much everything in my seasonal wardrobe over the next few weeks. It’s definitely going to make an appearance in my upcoming “OOTD” posts I’ve been putting together!

It was such a thoughtful gesture. I’m so grateful!

I am officially on “Cup Probation” after this impulse purchase earlier this month, but I’m okay with it. I’ve been carrying this stainless steel tumbler with me everywhere throughout this month – to work, the gym, when I’m out running errands or driving around, etc. It’s spill/leak-proof and keeps everything nice and cold for hours on end.

But obviously the selling point for me was the embossed pumpkin and floral print around the exterior. It’s just so cute – and so many people have asked where I purchased it (Hobby Lobby, by the way. You can get your own HERE.)

I’m hoping to find an equally cute Winter one when my Cup Probation is lifted – assuming it ever is!

Speaking of impulse buys, I try to swing by Bath & Body Works when they’re doing their “Buy 3/Get 3 Free” sales since it’s a great time to stock up on things like hand soap, laundry detergent, lip balms, things I go through fairly quickly, etc., and this month was no exception. While I definitely got hand soap (and a couple of gifts for family and friends!) I also grabbed a body wash and matching spritz in one of my favorite seasonal scents – Champagne Apple & Honey.

Of course, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles is one of my favorite B&BW Fall fragrances of all time, but there’s just something about the smell of apples and honey that is so cozy and refreshing all at once that I just want to have it everywhere – on me, my clothes, my sheets, you name it!

I’ve been using these religiously, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some hydrating suds and a crisp spray to use all over.

Finally, on September 1st (which Troy referred to as my “New Year’s Day”) he surprised me with a gourd for my kitchen and a bag of these pumpkin spice cookies from Tate’s Bake Shop. Ever the lover of a sweet treat at the end of the day, that bag was gone in pretty much two days and I have since picked up a few more to get me through the remainder of the Fall.

Enjoying these with milk is usually my go-to (I’m a cookie dunker for sure) but I’ve also had a couple with warmed cider or hot chocolate and I have to say – it’s a pretty perfect combination for this time of year.

And while that wraps up the photogenic favorites for this month, a couple of other things made the list, too!

– MUSIC/MOVIES/TELEVISION –

PUMPCAST – The rabbit hole of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ episodes and lore that I fell into during the height of the pandemic was not foreseen by anyone, myself included, and I’d often finish episodes with visible cringing or grimacing before immediately diving into the next one until I was completely caught up pre-reboot of the show with an entirely new cast. That’s where I fell off.

While I’d never considered a rewatch, this podcast has me thinking it over. Hosted by the VERY funny Maddie and Meg, they have been covering an episode a week in chronological order while absolutely eviscerating some of the insanity the cast were allowed to get away with over the years. I’ve laughed out loud so much while listening to this one, and I’m so happy that they’ve barely scratched the surface so far (they’re on season three as I write this!)

Resident Evil – Zach Cregger has done it again and has made a truly fun and pretty scary homage to one of my favorite video game franchises (and one of the first I played as a kid when I owned my very first Playstation console!) that actually feels like you’re immersed in a video game as you watch it. Austin Abrams is so endearing in this one that I was really rooting for his character throughout – and his bumbling, fumbling reactions to things really seemed like a true representation of a normal, every day person thrust into such insane circumstances.

We’d all like to think we’d be a Jill Valentine or a Leon Kennedy in a zombie outbreak/apocalypse, but would we really?

And there we have it! September’s collection of favorites is in the books – and they’re things I’m definitely going to still be loving and enjoying by the time I start putting together October’s assortment!

See you all soon as we get ready to say goodbye to September and hello to Halloween Time!
