Legends of the (Almost) Fall…

The fact that yesterday, the first of September, was a chilly day filled with torrential downpours throughout the morning, afternoon and well into the evening was pretty perfect, if I do say so myself. While I had just been excited for the arrival of the new month and the impending Fall season in general, being able to put on a hoodie and listen to the rain hit my roof while I worked from home with a Pumpkin Apple-scented candle burning nearby was just the icing on the spice cake for me.

And my boyfriend, bless him, who doesn’t like the Fall or the Winter seasons at all (and is now preparing to make it through them both while living in New England again for the first time in years) didn’t attempt to dissuade me or throw a wet blanket over my joy. Instead, he leaned into the day right alongside me – bringing me pumpkin spice cookies, a gourd to decorate my kitchen with, and buying us hot chocolate to sip on while we went for a spooky post-sunset stroll throughout Historic Deerfield after our weekly “Taco Tuesday” date night together.

He also didn’t tease me about the cutest pair of gourd-patterned pajamas I wore to bed when it was finally time to wind down for the evening. Not too badly, anyway. I’m sure I’ll share photos of them soon enough since they really are adorable.

Prior to officially kicking off the month, I made a stop in Foxborough over this past weekend to grab some Patriots gear in preparation for the upcoming NFL season. It’s been a hot minute since I went to either Patriot Place or Gillette Stadium – but there’s always something to do or see whenever I stop by. It’s so wild to me that you can have a great meal or do some shopping just steps away from one of the biggest, loudest and busiest stadiums ever. It just looms over everything!

I was finally able to see the recently installed Tom Brady statue before checking out some team t-shirts to wear for less formal days at the office or when I’m out watching some of the upcoming games with friends. One thing I always have so much fun with this time of year is participating in some friendly rivalries and harmless “trash talk” with a few of my friends scattered around the country who are fiercely loyal to their hometown/state teams.

It’s a tradition we have every Sunday and Thursday night leading up to the Super Bowl – and our group chat is already starting to buzz with excitement and insults (that are lined with love, I swear.)

Speaking of football fun – a little later on this week I’m going to be sharing a very satisfying dip recipe I’ve been perfecting for the Patriots’ first game of the regular season against the Seahawks next week – because what is a NFL viewing party without the great snacks to go with it?

See you all then!
