A Few of My Favorite Things: June 2026

June has been such a lovely and transformative month for both myself and some of those nearest and dearest to me. With weeks filled with not only sunshine and warm days/nights but also new opportunities and major milestones, I fully plan on giving this month a proper send-off and a lot of affection (and reflection) next Monday with a full recap before it’s time to start gearing up for July!

Before that though, and before I step away for the weekend and some travel plans I have coming up over the next couple of days, I wanted to share some of my favorite finds, buys and indulgences I’ve been enjoying this past month with another monthly installment of my “Favorite Things”!

You all likely know the drill by now so I won’t get too in the weeds with the explanation of how this works: I share the things I was able to photograph before I get into some miscellaneous odds & ends I also enjoyed in recent days/weeks.

So let’s dive right into it!

I had spotted this hanging fish decoration while out shopping at Old Orchard Beach over Memorial Day Weekend, and immediately grabbed one for my apartment and one for my mom since I knew she’d love it as much as I did. While the head and tail-end of this one are made of carved, sanded and painted wood – the “body” is assembled with pieces of driftwood and smooth stones. It’s so cute and so clever, and I knew I would make sure it had have a home in my kitchen for the season.

The store where I had picked this up had a few different color combinations/variations. While I had opted for the dark blue, I got my mom the light blue – but there was a red version there as well that I’m tempted to go back and try to find!

I attended my first ever Book Club meeting earlier this month at Kooks and absolutely loved it, and I was so excited that this novel by Rachel Hawkins was selected to be our next read since I’d heard so many promising things about it but hadn’t had the chance to really check it out for myself…

… Until now, anyway! This has been another page turner I can’t stop thinking about in-between unplugged reading sessions. I love a good mystery/thriller, and this one has been delivering with each twist and turn since I started it. I have a feeling I’ll be done with it before the end of June and may have to revisit it to take some notes before the next meeting, but it’s been so fun so far!

Finally, you can’t have a good beach read without a good beach snack within reach. I’m obsessed with any and all things Key Lime pie-related, so these tangy coated graham crackers from Trader Joe’s have been such a surprisingly refreshing sweet treat to enjoy after meals or when I’m in need of a little pick-me-up in the afternoons. They’re crunchy and citrusy and I can’t get enough of them!

Now we just need a strawberry or blueberry-lemonade version and I’d be all set!

And while that concludes the photogenic portion of this round-up, a couple of other things made the list this month, too!

– MUSIC/MOVIES/TELEVISION –

‘Backrooms ‘ – I loved this gripping, creepy, and overwhelmingly ominous movie through and through, which had plenty of nods to the original, viral YouTube series that helped it gain so much momentum on the big screen – but there were so many unexpected developments and new characters that kept me on the edge of my seat, too.

As much as I enjoyed seeing this one in a packed theater – it was everyone’s interpretations/narratives of what we’d watched after the movie ended that truly made an impression on me. Horror movies are bringing people together in all the right ways!

Brandon Flowers – ‘Plans’ – And coming in with a buzzer beater if I’ve ever seen/heard one – The Killers’ front man Brandon Flowers released a new single earlier today, the first off of his upcoming new solo country rock album to be released in August, ‘Thrasher’. I’m already hooked. If this song is any indication as to how the rest of the album is going to sound, then I’m ready to buy three copies and all the merchandise I can get my hands on.

I’m so excited for the upcoming tour! Bring on the sparkly cowgirl boots!

And there we have it! June is nearly complete, July will be arriving shortly, and I have so many fun things planned that I can’t wait to talk about!

Enjoy the weekend ahead, everyone – and I’ll see you all again on Monday!
