OOTD: Bubbles in Blush

It’s fitting that I spent this past weekend soaking up the sunshine, visiting two breathtaking waterfront locations (one of which I’ll write about a little later on this week!) and eating half my body weight in buttery lobster and saucy clams. It was truly the perfect way to both honor my dad for Father’s Day since he loved the outdoors and savoring good meals, and to ring in the official beginning of the Summer season all at once!

This past Friday night, after briefly listening to the kickoff of the Green River Festival from the comfort of my bedroom window, my friend and favorite photographer in the world – Dan – and I decided to head to Shelburne Falls to grab a quick dinner by the river, some drinks, and do some catching up since we’ve both had so much going on in our lives lately.

It also gave me the chance to wear a new skirt I’d picked up for myself earlier in the week while visiting Westerly, Rhode Island. This blush pink mini skirt, courtesy of Rochelle’s Boutique, features a series of fringe details that extend down to the ankles in what I can only describe as a “bubble” effect. It really does look like the bottom of the skirt is floating upwards and towards the top of it – and the fringe details swing and sway in such a fun way with every movement!

And while this one will surely look adorable with a nice blouse or lightweight sweater, I paired it with a simple while tank top this time around. It’s hot and humid and there were a lot of bugs out, and sometimes a girl just want to be comfortable while she’s having dinner and strolling the neighborhood!

I got so many compliments around Shelburne Falls about this one, with one woman we passed remarking that it looked like “the most fun skirt ever” – and it really is! I feel like a bit of a mermaid in it, so I’m excited to wear it during some more coastal and ocean-side plans I have lined up in the coming weeks.

Now I just need to find a version in aqua or sky blue to add to my collection!
