OOTD: Lavender Haze

When my mother announced her plans for Easter- a multi-course dinner with multiple options for a small portion of our family- I was ready to kick back in jeans and a sweatshirt or- depending on just how lazy I was feeling- leggings and an long tunic so that I could immediately slip into a post-meal food coma and still be comfortable. However, when the forecast called for sunshine and rising temperatures- the laid-back look just seemed a little less appealing. Instead, I opted for something slightly more formal and definitely more Spring-esque without going over-the-top or sacrificing comfort…

… Although the neckline and sleeves of this purple dress I ultimately chose had other plans in terms of making a pretty bold statement whenever I entered a room.

This dress is the epitome of comfort- with super soft, lightweight and breathable fabric and an elastic waist that didn’t feel constricting with movement (or eating some cabs.) I wasn’t left constantly readjusting things and could move around freely without anything falling down or riding up throughout my afternoon and evening.

And the ruffled sleeves/neckline added some serious flair and character that seemed to go hand-in-hand with the holiday and which gave this dress a super pretty, hyper-feminine touch.

I paired this one with my tan high heels and a subtle Coach gemstone pendant necklace I’ve been wearing non-stop in recent weeks for a little more sparkle- and even my mom was impressed with my effort when I walked through the door.

I’m looking forward to wearing this one a little more often now that there’s some outdoor events/gatherings happening in the upcoming weeks. This is such a fun and really, really gorgeous dress to wear this time of year- especially for more dressy, formal occasions!
