Local Loves: Galaxy

Are we tired about me writing about restaurants and local dining experiences yet? I hope not- because today’s installment of “Local Loves” is long overdue and just happens to be about one of my absolute favorite establishments in Easthampton, Massachusetts- Galaxy!

The first time I ever came into this retro, colorful blast-from-the-past restaurant and bar was in 2019, shortly after I’d first moved to the Pioneer Valley. A friend who had been stopping by there numerous times leading up to my arrival knew right away it would be my kind of place- not only because their ever-changing menu and cocktail specials are always impressive and delicious- but also because their 1970s-inspired dΓ©cor was something I would appreciate and covet.

And they were right!

Since then, I’ve been frequenting Galaxy whenever I can- although it was understandably a little more difficult to do at the height of COVID-19-related closures throughout 2020 and 2021- and one of my most recent visits was earlier this week where I knew I wanted to take some photos of everything and anything I could between sips and bites before the early-evening rush came in.

I treated myself to a little “Selfie Date” where I indulged in a hard iced tea (with honey!), cod croquettes over couscous and greens- and a chocolate/espresso mousse served with a warmed chocolate chip cookie.

As usual- everything tasted incredible and the service was friendly and fast. It was such a nice way to spend some time after a long day of work and running errands- and I’m looking forward to my next venture out to Easthampton so I can visit again.

If you love a quirky, vintage aesthetic- amazing food and stiff drinks- you have to stop by Galaxy! And be sure to check out their website since they post their daily specials every afternoon before they open!
