Local Loves: Captain T’s

Is it truly Summer in New England if I haven’t had some fried clam strips? The short answer is no, no it isn’t- and given that we’re approaching the end of July- I wanted to rectify that by checking out a newer local seafood spot that recently opened up in Barre, Massachusetts.

Captain T’s sits on the corner of Exchange Street in Barre, right across from the town’s common and their beautiful row of historical buildings (including the actual Historical Society itself.) While visiting Stef and Andy recently, who live less than 10 minutes away- they praised the restaurant- which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have an ice cream window that is presently open for the season.

Guests who plan on visiting should check out Captain T’s website beforehand (which links to their Facebook page.) They post daily specials not listed on their menus and a “Milkshake of The Day”- which is always a unique and unexpectedly delicious combination of flavors.

I’ve made a couple of stops in their dining area in recent weeks (they have outdoor seating as well- which hasn’t been as busy given the ongoing heat wave!) and the staff is always friendly, the restaurant is always spotless- and the food is always delicious!

Captain T’s also offers an assortment of sandwiches and burgers if seafood isn’t your first choice- and it’s all very, very good.

I definitely have my favorite places when it comes to seafood/lobster rolls/etc., and I’m happy to add this establishment to the list and support them whenever I’m visiting or passing through Barre!
