Local Loves: The Fix

Earlier this week, while sharing a recipe for a festive Fall coffee cake I’m hoping to recreate a second time for Thanksgiving- I also talked about a recent health scare I experienced that had sort of turned my world upside down while I awaited the results of lab tests, blood work, x-rays, etc. I’m happy to report that I’m on the mend slowly but surely- physically and emotionally- and just a couple of days ago had undergone the last of some follow-ups to definitively confirm I have a clean bill of health.

It’s been a pretty stressful couple of weeks, to say the least- and I’m looking forward to moving forward- so after reporting for my final examination/testing earlier this week, I decided to treat myself with a quick stop at one of my favorite burger places in Massachusetts- The Fix.

The Fix originated in my hometown of Worcester, and was a spot a lot of my friends and co-workers and I frequented every few weeks- not only for their insane burgers (think “Bob’s Burgers” Burger of The Day)– but for their appetizer and beer selection, too. The staff has always been friendly, the atmosphere has always been very laid-back and cool- and the food has always been amazing. They recently opened two other locations in the state and I couldn’t be happier.

I stopped at their Marlborough location while en route home from my appointment and ordered my favorite burger on their regular menu- The Phenomenal- which includes bacon, frizzled onions and smoked gouda (I never get the fried egg on it, though. That’s a little too much for me.) And as much as I would have loved one of their super creamy milkshakes- I opted for a water, instead. Staying hydrated is part of my recovery, after all.

If you love a good and occasional burger as much as I do, or are looking for a neat place with an extensive menu to enjoy your “Cheat Day”- I highly recommend visiting any of The Fix locations in Worcester, Marlborough or Leominster. They offer dine-in AND take-out options, too- if you’re in a rush!

And yes, I know I only just talked about getting back on track to a healthier lifestyle now that things are returning to normal- but I absolutely earned that meal. Believe me.
