OOTD: Thanksgiving Prep

With Thanksgiving just a few days away and my time now being split between wrapping things up at my office during this short work-week and preparing dishes and desserts to bring to the gathering planned at my mother’s house on Thursday, I only just recently realized I haven’t put much thought into my outfit I’m going to wear to the occasion- and I tore through my closet to see what would be dressy but most importantly- comfortable.

In a perfect world, I could just show up to Thanksgiving in my most cozy pair of sweatpants and a hoodie so I could just go straight from the dinner table to the couch for a nap- but given that this year’s gathering is bringing most of my family (including aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) together again- I opted for something a little more dressy.

The colors in this loose-fitting and super soft sweater from Pinque are perfect for these final days of Fall before we dive into all things Christmas, sparkly and festive- and these skinny jeans from 1822 Denim have a comfortable waistline with a little bit of stretch to it so that I can eat as much as I want without being in pain for the rest of the afternoon when I move around or sit down.

My gray suede cowboy boots that had first made an appearance with some of my ensembles over the Summer are also making a comeback with this outfit since the heel gives me a more proper posture- and they compliment the colors in the sweater a little better than my usual pair of black, knee-high boots or brown hiking boots do.

This is the quintessential “I’m going in for seconds of the mashed potatoes and stuffing” outfits I have on standby during the holiday season- and I might just keep it on after Thursday’s meal if I decide to do a little Black Friday shopping when I wake up from my food coma.
