I will fully admit that there are some fashion trends and style resurrections that I just cannot get onboard with. While the return of chokers and tie-dye everything has been a fun blast-from-the-past I had always been prepared to wear proudly again- things like fanny packs and high-waist “mom jeans” are better left in the 1990s when I begrudgingly suffered through them the first time around.
So when bicycle shorts as every-day-wear became a thing again- I was thrilled. They’re comfortable, slenderizing, they come in a variety of colors/patterns and they can be worn on those hot Summer days when all you’re trying to do is run some errands and grab a bite to eat without having to dress up too much.
These black ones came in a two-pair set (the other pair are sky blue) via Amazon- and they’re ridiculously soft and stretchy. I almost always wear sneakers with them and either a loose-fitting tunic or a graphic t-shirt- like this new one I picked up from North Swell– a surf shop based out of Mystic, Connecticut that organize frequent beach cleanup events in and around New England.

I wore this sunny yellow shirt while out and about during a (partial) day off this past week and felt cute and comfy- and I absolutely love the skeleton print on the back.
You can head on over to North Swell’s website- linked above- to check out some of their merchandise and donate to their cause. And, if you live in New England, you can also utilize their website to sign up for any of their upcoming beach-cleaning events, too!
