I’m scheduled to leave for an extended weekend on Cape Cod with some of my girlfriends bright and early tomorrow morning, so today is all about finalizing some things at the office before I slam my laptop shut until the middle of next week and packing my smaller suitcase with the essentials and a couple of extra outfits (just in case!) I’m so excited – especially since we’ve got some new adventures and destinations planned for our trip this year!
This past weekend was a different kind of “Girls Trip” though, because I took my mom to Hardwick Winery for a lobster bake luncheon beneath their outdoor pavilion since it’s been a hot minute (see: just a couple of days!) since we’ve enjoyed some fresh lobster. We’re trying to get as much seafood in our systems as possible before the end of the season, after all!
The event space was decorated so cute, the staff were so attentive and helpful in making sure everyone had everything they needed – and the menu? Amazing! We each got a big, steamed lobster to crack open, a baked potato with sour cream, corn on the cob, a cup of clam chowder, warm rolls with butter and homemade strawberry shortcake topped with fresh whipped cream to close out the meal.
We also had a great selection of chilled wines and refreshing wine slushes to choose from. Their blackberry wine slushie was so delicious!
The weather held up perfectly and we had a blast, and we’re already checking out the event calendar to see what else we can sign up for in the coming weeks. There’s a “Paint & Sip” night that looks pretty fun!
Even though I’ll be out on the ocean and doing some deep sea fishing this coming Friday, I have a scheduled recipe post that will be up and running that was inspired by some of the lightweight, savory sandwiches I like to pack for road trips and beach days just like the ones I’ve got planned.
