A Few of My Favorite Things: April 2026

Are we really creeping up on the end of April already? This month has been such a whirlwind of local travel, work obligations, scheduled events with friends and family and some extra date nights with my boyfriend during his most recent visit/stay – that it feels like the month only just started. How are we only a few short days away from May’s arrival?!

While I’ll have my usual recap of these past few weeks up on ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘ in just a couple of days, I first wanted to take some time to appreciate the gifts/splurges I’ve been enjoying throughout the month in my usual “Favorite Things” round-up – and this one is much smaller when compared to other installments in the past given that I’ve been so busy that I haven’t really had the opportunity to catch up on newly released movies and music just yet.

There’s a few things coming out in May, however, that I’m sure I’ll be writing about them when it comes time to put together my list again in another month!

Let’s get started!

During my most recent Spring Cleaning session, I put together a number of my thermos/tumbler and travel mug collection to either gift to friends and family or donate, or simply toss if they were in rough, too-far-gone shape. I was down to about three our four by the end of my organization marathon, which is pretty good with all things considered!

But my mother knows I love anything with a cute food print on it, and she saw this Vera Bradley tomato tumbler (complete with the most adorable little straw topper) and immediately thought of me when picking it up. She ended up gifting it to me after Easter during a day out together, and it has become my go-to thermos for every day use. I bring this with me in my car, to work, when out running errands and on my desk when I’m working from home.

This one keeps my water ice cold for hours, and although I haven’t tried any hot beverages in it just yet – I’m sure it works just as great with those, too! But really, how cute is this?!

Early on in the Spring season I wanted to move away from my usual scrunchies and claw clips and try tying my hair back with something more pretty and soft to the touch. I’ve had satin and silk scarves in the past that I’ve used for my hair, as an actual scarf, or to add a pop of color to a handbag – but this satin one I picked up a couple of weeks ago has been one of my favorites because of the beautiful colors in it and because it makes the prettiest bandana to keep my curls out of my eyes – which has been especially important with how busy I’ve kept!

There were a few variations of this scarf that featured a lot of pinks, purples and more pastel hues- but there was something about the blue and orange color combination that I am absolutely obsessed with. It’s perfect for the Spring – and for the Summer, too!

And finally, this “What to Eat” dice decider was a bit of a gag gift that I had picked up – one for Troy and one for myself – since we almost always face a challenge when choosing where to go for food when we’re heading out for a date night or cooking a meal at home. I saw a set of these while out with the girls earlier this month and scooped them up immediately.

The premise for these is pretty fool-proof – whoever’s turn it is to make the decision simply rolls the dice and whatever it lands on – that’s what you’re eating. Such a cute idea!

____

That’s it for this month’s installment. Like I said, short and sweet – but I’m looking forward to having a much lengthier list by the time it comes down to putting together my next collection at the end of May.

There’s so much happening in the weeks ahead!
