While I don’t loathe the Winter like I used to in my younger years, I am by no means a full-blown “Winter Girlie” just yet. I am, presently, in survival mode here in New England – and am doing my best to keep warm, cozy, and hydrated until I no longer need to wear endless layers or curl up and into myself like a shrimp when trying to navigate the outdoors while running errands, going to/from work, or heading out to spend time with my friends and family.
The groundhog just declared six more weeks of Winter, though – so it looks like I may have to press on for a little while longer.
I digress. I’ve been seeking out activities and events to keep me occupied so I don’t go stir crazy in my apartment while simultaneously keeping me out of the frigid temperatures and endless snow.
So last Friday night, when I had the opportunity to check out a candlelight concert via Lumos Experiences in the form of a Hans Zimmer tribute, I jumped at the chance. Lumos, an international company that host a number of events/concerts both within the United States and U.K. at various churches and cathedrals who can accommodate them and their hundreds of candles – are presently touring with multiple musicians for classical music showcases, Coldplay tributes, etc., with more varieties planned in the coming months!
The concert consisted of a violist, a violinist, and cellist – and they were extraordinary. I had front row seats to their performance as they played scores from ‘Gladiator’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Interstellar’ and so many more for just over an hour – and the overall ambiance and the atmosphere just added to the beauty of the experience. I would absolutely go check out any of their upcoming shows again!

Over the weekend, while I was in Boston shopping for Galentine’s Day gifts, and when the cold got to be a bit too much for me while making my way down Mass Ave – I ducked into the The Mary Baker Eddy Library for a few minutes to warm up and to take in the famous Mapparium exhibit (only $6 for adults!) at my leisure.
Fantastically enough, I was the only one there for the timed presentation, which meant I had an unobstructed view from the inside of the globe and could snap as many photos and videos as I wanted and at my own pace. That almost never happens, so it was a lucky day, indeed!

It’s so, so pretty in there.
A little later on this week, I’m gearing up for the Super Bowl and will be sharing an appetizer recipe I plan on bringing to any and all parties I’ll be stopping by to celebrate – but for now, it’s time to get back to work (right next to my heater, of course.)
See you all soon!
