“I Can Pick Myself Flowers…”

It was all-too-perfect that I would spend the last weekend of July finally being able to enjoy a full couple of days of uninterrupted sunshine and cooler, comfortable temperatures considering most of the month was spent wading through flood waters or taking shelter in basements during severe storms, heat and tornado warnings.

Not wanting to waste a moment of it before we headed into August, Saturday was spent in Barre, Massachusetts- where Stef and I recorded the first couple episodes of our ‘Baking To The B Movies‘ podcast’s fourth season (!!!) which premieres next Monday, August 7th. We’ve got some brand new, best-of-the-worst horror films we’re going to be discussing this season that are going to pair so well with the menu we’ve selected for each episode!

It was so much fun catching up with Stef and her husband (and also our producer,) Andy- and preparing and then eating a lot of delicious food together. I can’t wait to share the recipes/recaps on our social media soon!

On Sunday, I headed down to Griswold, Connecticut to visit Buttonwood Farm for their Sunflowers for Wishes event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Walking through 14 acres of sunflowers at full bloom during the afternoon was pure magic, and I snapped tons of photos in-between picking a few stems to bring home- all while helping a good cause.

As the afternoon wore on, I headed just over the border to Rhode Island to grab a lemonade and pretzel at Del’s (I wrote about them a couple of years ago!) before it was time to drive back to Massachusetts and then home to prepare for the work-week ahead.

And with my sunflowers perched nearby in a vase on my bedroom night table as I write this- I’m ready to dive right into August- including sharing an updated look into my seasonal skincare/hair care in the next couple of days!

’til then!
