The Early Summer Weekend Refresh

These past few weeks have been so unbelievably busy (in a mostly fun way, of course!) Between coming back from my mini-vacation in San Diego last month, to working press at this year’s Boston Calling Festival, having Troy visit for a week where we attended graduations/graduation-related gatherings for his family- and still working my full-time job, my radio gig and wrapping up the most recent season of my horror movie/cooking podcast with Stef. I’ve relied heavily on my weekly/monthly planner and setting alarms and reminders on my phone to keep me on track!

So this past weekend, with no definitive plans or obligations in place- I took the opportunity to have a much-needed “reset.” I took care of errands I’d been putting off but really couldn’t ignore for much longer- like doing laundry, grocery shopping and tidying up my apartment (and my car!) now that it’s just me in it again. There’s something about having some order and organization in smaller spaces that just makes me feel better both mentally and emotionally.

I also performed some long overdue self-care. I lit some soothing/refreshing candles, did some elaborate and indulgent skin care/hair treatments- and caught up on the shows and podcasts I’d fallen behind on while I’ve been out and about recently. Simply staying home and doing absolutely nothing from time to time is severely underrated and I recommend everyone participate in it every so often!

That’s not to say I didn’t do a little socializing (and eat great food) though! I haven’t seen my friend/neighbor Dan in what felt like forever, so we met up for brunch this past weekend, too. Our stop? Wells Provisions, of course! It’s our favorite and always satisfies.

From there, we hit the road to Connecticut to check out a dockside seafood spot and beach area that I’ll be talking about at length a little later on this week since our afternoon/evening absolutely deserves it’s own post- along with sharing a Coastal ensemble I feel adorable in every time I wear it!

Until then!
