500 Posts? 500 Posts!

It seems fitting that I would commemorate 500 posts here at ‘Coffee & Chiffon’ from the comforts of a loft overlooking downtown San Diego and the Bay, watching the sun rise and the city come to life minute by minute. This place has always been dear to my heart for nearly twenty years now- largely due to the close friends and acquaintances I’ve met and made along the way (and many who still live here and who have reached out to make plans while I’m in town. I’m blessed.) The weather and the beaches help my ongoing affection too, of course.

… And the music/art scene.

… And the food.

… I really could go on and on.

But here I am- and ‘Coffee & Chiffon’ reaches yet another milestone in my blogging “career.” Some of you who have read this for any significant amount of time may recall when I celebrated 250 posts back in the Fall of 2021 with a giveaway- and while I have something similar planned for when I return to the East Coast next week and can put the final touches on things- that celebration was also right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic when we were all still fully masked, getting vaccinated and trying to navigate a landscape and lifestyle that seemed to change daily. I was amazed my blog, my sanity and myself had made it through unscathed- and still am a little bit amazed, really.

And now, nearly two years later and after countless posts about my life, my travels, my makeup obsessions and things I’m baking/cooking- through hardships, devastating losses, the building and ending of relationships, and the triumphs- both personal and professional- I’ve done my best to document it all fully and with sometimes brutal honesty in order to connect with so many others around the world who may have been going through similar things and changes.

And I’m still just as passionate about this little corner of the internet I’ve carved out for myself as I was back when I first started at the very beginning of 2020. I’m excited to see what changes in my life occur by the time I reach 750 posts or, dare I say it- 1,000? Will I still be living in the Pioneer Valley or on the East Coast? Will I try another career path? Will I find someone who sweeps me off my feet or buy that bus I’ve always wanted to tour the country in? (that’s not to say I can’t do all of these things at once, by the way. I’m just throwing possibilities out there into the universe!)

Only time will tell, and I’m looking forward to writing through all of it here.

One thing I do know for sure, however- is that I’m so grateful to everyone who reads this, who reaches out with their support and suggestions, and who share their own stories with me. It means the world to me and I appreciate each and every one of you because it keeps me going and keeps me inspired.

And thank you to the collaborators, artists, small businesses and brand partners I’ve had the privilege and pleasure of working with over these past few years. Making magic happen with you all is something I truly love- and I look forward to seeing what we can do together in the future!

But for now, I’ve got to go soak up the sunshine. I’ll be back next week with some photos and a recap from California- as well as some more details about that aforementioned giveaway I’m planning!
