I’m happy to report that we are in peak foliage here in Western Massachusetts. While there’s still some small patches of greenery left over from the Summer, the trees are bursting with reds, yellows, golds and oranges- and it’s making my early morning commute into my office all the more breathtaking and beautiful as I travel the back roads and sip my coffee while the sun rises.
This highly anticipated change of scenery is especially vibrant against the backdrop of Historic Deerfield– where leaves flutter and swirl down around colonial-era houses and landmarks. I’ve written about my love of the neighborhood at length in the past. It’s a short distance away from my apartment and is one of my favorite areas to walk around pretty much every season since it is consistently quaint and calming- but this is especially true in the Fall when I visit most frequently.
And I did just that a few days ago after a long day at work. In need of some fresh air and some Autumnal bliss- I headed down to Deerfield for a stroll and to watch the sunset. I wore one of my most common and comfortable outfits for the occasion- loose fitting boot cut jeans, high heeled ankle boots so the denim wouldn’t drag on the ground as I walked, an over-sized chunky sweater and one of my all-time favorite felt Fall hats (say that three times fast) since it was just a little breezy and brisk outside.
This is typically my go-to type of casual wear outfit this time of year- other than leggings and tunics with a matching scarf or something similar- since I’m all about staying warm but still looking put together. I especially love this tan waffle knit sweater since it’s neutral and so easy to match with anything in my wardrobe, and is pretty big, soft (and not scratchy!) and super easy to move around in.
And can I just say how much I love wearing jeans again? After such a long period of time working from home because of COVID and pretty much wearing joggers or yoga pants in my home office day in and day out- I am all about denim again. Skinny jeans. Boot cut. Straight cut. Give me all the jeans in all the colors and washes.
I’m going to be showing off more of my upgraded Fall wardrobe in the weeks ahead (including more of the aforementioned denim I’ve been collecting)– as well as some of my favorite dresses and tops that have been in the rotation lately. I have SO many I’ve been falling in love with this season!
