OOTD: Foxy Lady

Every once in a while, I find an unexpected bargain on a quality piece of clothing/shoes/accessories that I’m able to wear year after year and have it still be in style and fit me perfectly. It’s not often, especially with how quickly trends fade in and out- but when it happens- I’m always thrilled.

Case in point- this button-up, sleeveless, knee-length dress with fox-print I had picked up a couple of years ago during Hampton Beach’s annual Seafood Festival. The cost of this lined, super stretchy and comfortable dress while on markdown? $7. How could I not buy it immediately?

I like to wear this dress in the Fall, typically with a cardigan to keep my arms warm, my usual boots and a light scarf. It gets a lot of compliments- on coffee runs, during walks through the neighborhood, while I’m grocery shopping, etc. I recently wore it on a brief riverside stroll in the Berkshires when I needed to get some fresh air and socially distance while wrapping up my post-travel quarantine period.

And the dress is still bright and vibrant- despite over two years of wear and washes it’s gotten since I purchased it. I have a feeling this will remain one of my go-to Autumnal dresses for the foreseeable future- although I’m sure I’ll find new ways to dress it up/down and accessorize it differently.

I can’t wait for the Seafood Festival to be a thing again (here’s hoping for 2021!) so I can see what other bargains I can find for my Fall/Winter wardrobe!
