As much as I would have loved to share a Spring-inspired outfit today- maybe one of my floral-print jumpsuits or a pastel-hued blouse- I gotta’ keep it real and acknowledge that under current circumstances, I really haven’t had the opportunity to dress up the way I could a few weeks ago before coronavirus and quarantines were a thing.
I’ve been working from home every day for the past few weeks, and while I have been doing my best to hang onto a morning routine- I get up early to work out, shower, and make breakfast (and a cup of coffee!) before I start chipping away at my inbox and daily tasks- coordinating a presentable outfit has sort of fallen by the wayside in my list of priorities.
I *do* make an effort not to wear pajamas in my home office space, however- since I find that a change of clothes gets me out of a lazy, “go back to bed” mindset and I’m more inclined to focus and be productive- but I am not coordinating a professional ensemble by any means. And makeup? At this point I think I’ve forgotten how to apply it.
While I work, I be sure to keep comfortable- especially since I need to get up and stretch every so often. I’ve been keeping it simple with t-shirts/tank tops and joggers as of late- but I gotta’ say the most comfortable pair I own are these French terry ones from L.L. Bean– a gift I received over the holidays last year. These hang a little lower on my waist, and although the legs are fitted- I can roll them up a bit when it gets warmer outside and/or when the sun heats up my apartment.
I’m hoping that in the coming weeks I’ll have more occasions to wear my Springtime clothes. Maybe not out and about in crowds anytime soon- but out while continuing to practice social distancing and trying to get some fresh air. Only time will tell.
Until then, I’m just glad I’ve got comfortable clothes to wear at home while I take it day by day.
