Although we’ve now crossed the threshold in the season where I’ve been starting to wear my knee high boots again, I’m still not ready to give up my sleeveless dresses (even though I love a good sweater any time, any place, don’t get me wrong!) I just adore how comfortable my dress collection is, and how I’m never sweating through my clothes during those occasional spikes in the temperature – usually during the afternoon – when Summer is trying to hang on for as long as possible and remind us all that until tomorrow, the technical first say of Fall, that it’s still here and hadn’t gone anywhere.
So during my recent outing to the local county fair, I decided to wear this lightweight denim dress – a find at Target, I believe! – since it was still pretty warm out as the sun went down and the neon and flashing lights came to life. I kept my color palette neutral to go with the dark blue, with my brown suede purse and brown boots.
But I was more interested in finding Fried Oreos then in looking chic, I have to admit.
It wasn’t until the sun had fully set and I’d been outside for a while that the chill started to roll in, a bit, and I ended up grabbing a lightweight cardigan I’d brought with me just in case to warm my arms up before I headed home.
I’m hoping to get some more wear out of this outfit before it becomes too cold out to keep it in regular rotation in my closet. It’s so stretchy, comfortable, and can be accessorized so easily. I might even wear it to the Big E later on today since I’ve got another “Fair Day” planned with my boyfriend and the sun is shining bright this morning! We’ll just have to wait and see!
