I had wanted to publish a little blurb this past Monday morning before I sleepily made my way back to work for the week, but between watching The Patriots absolutely choke during the biggest game of the year, dancing to Bad Bunny’s spectacularly fun and beautiful Halftime Show and eating all of the snacks that were available within a 40 mile radius – I needed a couple of days to rest and recover now that the football season is done for a few months and my Sundays are somewhat back to normal for the time being.
And with this week leading up to Valentine’s Day/Galentine’s Day and a couple of really fun events and classes I’ll be participating in with some of the incredible women I have in my life, I’ve decided to take moments for myself throughout the next few days to have what I call “Self-Love Celebrations”. These “celebrations” can be anything from seeing a movie on my own, treating myself to a nice dinner, watching the Puppy Bowl while curled up with Oliver, unplugging and going for a walk somewhere scenic or having a quiet and cozy spa day from the comfort of my apartment.
So far, I’ve taken on the Puppy Bowl, the scenic walk and the nice dinner via PUBLIC in North Adams – which have been delightful – and I’m going to be checking out the new ‘Dracula’ movie (which I’ve heard was quite good!) and the new adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights’ within the week. I’m pretty sure I can squeeze an at-home spa day in there somewhere, too!

I’ve also been trying out a variety of seasonal, chocolate-covered-strawberry lattes courtesy of Tandem Bagel and Brewology in Rhode Island (both are delicious, by the way!) and wearing hints of pinks and reds in my every day ensembles to feel a little more festive and whimsy – although I’ll be sharing more of that a little later on this week!
I have a wonderful, attentive and fun boyfriend I love who often spoils me in so many incredible and unexpected ways, but I think it’s important to practice plenty of self-love, too – because as I’m sure I’ve said in the past here on ‘Coffee & Chiffon‘, probably more than once – you can’t be at your best in a relationship with someone else unless you’re at your best in the relationship with yourself, first.
So get out there and treat yourself to something fun, tasty, and lovely or all three at once – because you deserve it!
