Amid flurries of both snow and of seasonal/holiday activities, I’ve found myself having to frequently go in and out of the bitterly cold, windy weather we’ve been having here in the Northeast as of late. While I’ll never say no to having a White Christmas, it does call for a number of layers and accessories that are a bit of a pain to put on and take off over and over throughout the day.
Regardless, I’ve tried to make it fun and as chic as I can, finally breaking out a black wool peacoat I’ve owned for a number of years (but, being wool, seems to attract every piece of fuzz and lint within a 40-mile radius at any given time!), heavier white boots that I’d actually bought specifically for my hiking excursions in Italy this past May – and am finally wearing again since they do great on snow and ice – and these fuzzy earmuffs I had shared a couple of weeks ago in my November “Favorite Things” round-up!
Whereas the heavy hats and fluffy beanies I’ve worn in recent years did little to prevent earaches and redness regardless of how far down I pulled them onto my head, these earmuffs have been a dream come true. Sure, they muffle noise, too – and I often have to be tapped on the shoulder to realize anyone is speaking to me, but I am so warm and cozy when I wear them – and that’s all that matters when it’s below freezing outside!

And they’re super cute. Let’s be real.
Next week, I’m going to be getting a little spooky (only a little!) with some festive spirits – literally – and sharing what might be the last “Local Loves” of 2025, along with a another seasonal recipe that you can bring to any upcoming holiday parties!
’til then!
