Bidding farewell to September is always such a bittersweet thing for me. I love October and all things Halloween (and I feel like I say that every year around this time!) but September is also so beloved and cherished. It’s a month of beautiful transitions and in many ways, new beginnings, as we finally shake off the last of the Summertime sand and sunshine and prepare to get cozy and comfortable for the remainder of the year.
And this was such a fun month for me, personally – that I don’t want it to end just yet!
Although I had started September with an iced pumpkin coffee at one of the cutest little cafés in Rhode Island, I had almost immediately headed out to Las Vegas to kick off the unofficial beginning of the Fall season and have an extended Labor Day Weekend/Week with my boyfriend, Troy. He did his best to make the desert feel as Autumnal as possible for me by decorating his apartment with plenty of pumpkins and plaid when we weren’t off exploring museums, trying new restaurants, or watching one of the craziest storms I’ve ever seen – and I love and appreciate him and his efforts so much.
Once I was back home in New England and felt the first real chill in the air, I immediately began visiting some of my favorite places in the area – like a popular cider mill/bar in Connecticut and famous candy shops and farm stands in and around where I grew up.
My girlfriends and I had our first bonfire of the season earlier this month – and I whipped up a couple of fun Fall recipes and shared some new additions to my wardrobe in recent weeks.
And to commemorate the last Saturday in September this past weekend, I stopped by Paul & Sandy’s Too, a huge garden center and greenhouse in East Hampton, Connecticut – to check out their selection of gourdes and oversized pumpkins – and to also take a little stroll through their very family-friendly “Pumpkintown, U.S.A.” seasonal display.
I’ve driven by it no less than a hundred times over the years – but finally made it a point to actually stop to see it in person – and it was super cute!
October is shaping up to be just as busy and as fun as ever – and while I’ll be sharing some local haunts and places of interest in and around New England as I love to do every year – I’ve also got some trips planned to NYC and Ohio that I’m really looking forward to!
So here’s to these last couple of days of September 2025 – a truly fun, relaxing, and beautiful month filled with incredible times with some of my favorite people, gorgeous scenery, exploring new places and revisiting some long-time-loved ones, too.
And here’s to October being just as exciting, adventurous, spooky-in-all-the-right-ways, silly and overall joyful for all of us!
See you all on the 1st!
