Chilly, Chili, and Chillin’…

I’ve been really fortunate and blessed to find and nurture the friendships I’ve had in my life so far – many of which have been going strong since I was a teenager and/or in my early twenties. While life happens and circumstances can and do often change – people start new jobs, they get married, they have children, they move away, etc. – it’s been a really fulfilling and heartwarming realization to look at all of the different people in my life and know that no matter what, they will be there regardless of said circumstances or distance.

And I make sure they know the feeling goes both ways, too! I would do anything for my friends and loved ones. They mean the world to me!

So although scheduling events, gatherings, get-aways and meet-ups might require a little more planning and preparation than it used to before we all had an abundance of responsibilities and priorities – I absolutely love that we make it happen one way or another.

This past weekend, for example, when I wasn’t drinking all of the apple cider imaginable in Connecticut, I was stopping by my friend Alyssa’s house in my hometown for the first bonfire of the season she’d planned in advance and to enjoy some homemade chili and catching up with the girlies. We’re all loving and living for sweater weather right now – and the evening temperatures and absence of biting bugs did not disappoint!

Prior to my arrival, I stopped by Red Apple Farm in Phillipston to grab some of their hard cider to share during the evening since nothing is better to have alongside hot chili and some smoky, woodsy air. I also opted for a regular cider for myself to enjoy on the road while enroute to Alyssa’s because it is September, after all!

I’m looking forward to our next planned Autumnal get-together in a few weeks since it may or may not involve a corn maze and some pumpkin carving.

And this Friday, I’ll be sharing a no-bake recipe for a dessert dip inspired by the flavors of the season that is perfect to serve with some graham crackers or ginger snaps!
