Game Day Eats: Air Fryer Loaded Hash Browns

Having returned from Las Vegas late last night after taking the end of the past week off from both work and blogging to rest, relax and recharge – only to immediately head back into my office bright and early this morning – I thought I’d kick off this week’s series of planned posts with something quick, easy, very tasty, and somewhat celebratory given the recent beginning of the NFL’s regular season! We all know how much I love a good game day appetizer, after all!

I whipped up these loaded hash browns in a matter of minutes this past weekend in-between watching some of the games and lounging by the pool at Troy’s apartment. They make a great snack – but can also be considered a breakfast dish, too. Anything can if you just believe enough!

And they only require a few ingredients!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

4 SERVINGS:

  • 4 frozen hash brown patties
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup chopped bacon (or Bacon Bits!)
  • 2 tablespoons diced jalapeños
  • 4 thin jalapeño slices

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Air fry the hash browns at 400°F for twenty minutes, flipping halfway through to make sure they are evenly cooked.

2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cheeses, cream cheese, sour cream, chopped bacon and diced jalapeños. Spoon the mixture onto the cooked hash browns and top with more of the shredded cheese, bacon, and one jalapeño slice per hash brown.

3. Air fry the hash browns for an additional 5-7 minutes at 400°F or until the cheese is melted and the hash browns are crisp at the edges. Serve, and enjoy!

The version of the recipe I’ve shared today doesn’t include the jalapeños since Troy isn’t a fan of them, but I tend to add some extra when I make these for myself since I always like a little bit of spice with my appetizers!

A little later on this week, I’m going to have some more recaps from my time in Vegas (since there’s a lot of photos to finish going through!) and an Autumnal Academia-inspired “OOTD” as I continue to get into the seasonal spirit.
