Hydrangeas, Tiramisu and Classic Cars…

Around this time last year, I had taken a day trip to Hyannis to catch the last couple days of the annual Hydrangea Festival (one of my favorite flowers!) and do some shopping. I’d ultimately set a goal for myself during that outing that I would plan another trip in Summer 2025, except I would do so a little more meticulously so that I could experience the earlier days of the festival and scout out some of the best places to see the hydrangeas up close and without large crowds since most of Cape Cod is usually packed this time of year.

So this past weekend, after hitting the road promptly at 6AM to beat traffic, I headed back to the Cape where I started my morning with an iced tiramisu latte and egg & avocado croissant at my beloved Mariner Café before I headed over to Sandwich, Massachusetts – and specifically the Heritage Museum & Gardens – just as they were opening for the day so I could check out their vast hydrangea displays, trails, art installations and both an antique carousel (that still functions! I even got to ride it!) and an impressive collection of vintage cars they had housed near their main entrance.

And this was all before it got too hot out, and well before it got too busy where I couldn’t see everything and anything without a significant wait time – and my plan and timing worked perfectly! Not only was I one of the only people in the gardens throughout a good portion of the morning, but I was getting ready to leave just as most people were filing in by the hundreds to begin their afternoons there!

And despite the fact that I got stuck in a considerable amount of traffic while trying to leave the Cape (but that happens regardless of what time anyone leaves!) it was such a great day spent in the sun and in absolutely beautiful, breathtaking scenery.

I have a few more places I’m attempting to stop by on the Cape this Summer before my girlfriends and I go down for our annual weekend getaway in early August – and while I may not get around to revisiting the Heritage Museum and Gardens again this season, I really would love to go back on another day, and maybe in the off-season, to check out more of their trails! There’s so much to explore!

Later on this week, and before we take a break for the weekend – I’ve got another peek inside my Summer wardrobe planned – and I’m really excited to share the photos from the shoot I did to show off the latest ensemble!
